[style=border-top:5px solid #5165ae; margin-top: 0; font-size:10px; line-height:13px; text-align:justify; font-family: tahoma; text-transform:lowercase;] A North America movie night. Alfred wasn't sure why they hadn't done this sooner. When Teresa suggested that she, Alfred, and Matthew get together for a movie night, Alfred was all over that. He'd even opted to take over the planning, whether Teresa and Matthew wanted it that way or not. He'd decided that said movie marathon would be at his place. His reasoning was surprisingly sensible - He was the middle country, and therefore neither Teresa nor Mattie would have to travel as far.
The nation loved having guests. There were certain areas of his home he generally left off limits (his room save for a few select people, for example, or the basement - the fact that Tony lived there kept most people away anyhow), but other than that he liked when people dropped in. He looked forward to it, especially if they were going to be doing something fun while they were staying.
He had a hefty supply of his own movies. Not every movie that was ever made, of course, but most of the classics, as well as most of the recent bestsellers. The Avengers was currently on replay in his Blu-Ray player. However, he expected Mattie and Teresa to bring their own movies as well. Teresa especially, since she was the one who suggested this get together in the first place. He wasn't as sure about Mattie, but wouldn't be surprised if Mattie brought something.
He'd told them not to bring food, and that he would supply it. However, he'd said the same thing on Thanksgiving to the other nations, and hardly any of them listened. He didn't really mind if they brought their own food anyway - the more the merrier - but hey, if they didn't want to, that was fine too. He had plenty of popcorn for the occasion! Granted, he'd probably eat a lot of it himself, but there was still plenty to go around. He'd bought more than usual for that reason.
Alfred was passing the time waiting for the other two to arrive by watching TV. He was trying his best to hold off on the popcorn until the movie, but it was becoming increasingly tempting. He kept glancing toward the kitchen as his stomach gave a hefty rumble. He rose to his feet, about to give in when he heard noises at the door. He headed over to the door at once, yanking it open to whoever was there. "Heya! Feel free to come in and make yourself at home!" Though both of them usually did that anyway, whether he invited them to or not.[/style] [STYLE=font:10px arial; font-weight: bold;]tags: Teresa and Matthew words: 448 notes: This was made for Teresa and Mattie...but if you want to toss a state or city or other North American country in as a party crasher you can. He had told her not to bring food. He actually had the audacity to believe that she wasn’t going to bring any food. No, that was a lie. Somewhere in her heart, Teresa recognized that the American knew that she probably was going to bring food. The question was…what would she make? She could always make enchiladas, but she had made those for the states and the cities the other day, and she really wasn’t in the mood to make some more. Besides, she had been experimenting with new recipes, and she wasn’t sure that she wanted Alfred or Matthew to taste anything until she had made the changes. She could always make tacos, but they would get cold by the time they got there, and she didn’t really feel like making those over again when it was going to be a hassle to go and get tortillas – because she sincerely doubted Alfred was going to have any sort of tortillas in his house.
Finally, the Mexican decided on a simple, easy-to make food; tortas. Yes, they gave the same problem as the tacos did, but they were also healthier. If she made the meat and took it in a wrapped container, she didn’t have much of a problem. All she would need to do when she got there was heat the mean and slide it into the sandwich. Teresa had told su jefe that she would be back whenever she was going to be back, but probably the next day. Staying too long with Alfred and Matthew might be fun, but too much time and she was sure she was going to let something slip. Still, she packed her duffle bag with ease and waved at all her pets. Orgullo, of course, meowed and demanded to be picked up and hugged, which she obliged with. Jalapeño was pleased with simply being petted. Once she was on her way out, she smiled at her house and turned away, bag over shoulder and supplies in hand.
It didn’t take her an incredible amount of time to be able to reach Alfred’s house. Sure, the movie plan was farther north than she would have liked – it was cold, and her shivering let it be known – but she didn’t mind it. As much as she loved Matthew, she would have been shaking if they had decided to have it at his house. Besides, Teresa was still sure she would be kind of nervous being in his house. She wouldn’t be used to it, not as comfortable there as she would be in America’s house. After all, she had broken into her northern neighbor’s house a fair amount of times. Like, now. She didn’t bother to wait for him to answer her knocks. She had tried the door to get it open, but she was surprised to see that he had kept it locked.
That was weird.
But, she waited patiently, albeit still cold. Her foot tapped against the door until he opened it. She proceeded to smile brightly and nod her head. “Por supuesto, Alfred. This is like my second home anyway, no?” Teresa didn’t wait for a reply as she brushed passed him, looking over her shoulder as she headed towards the kitchen. “Hungry? I was going to make something for us while we waited for Mateo to come. I beat him here, no?” [/style] |

After all, wasn’t it awkward to have movie night with not only your ex, but your brother’s ex-wife as well? It wasn’t just that either, it was the fact that both of those were the same person as well. How did nobody else find that awkward? Maybe he was just awkward and thus felt like it was awkward or maybe it was because Alfred was oblivious to the feeling. It could also be the fact that Alfred and Resa were only married because they were drunk in Vegas, and he actually had a relationship with her. He had no issue hanging out with her; it was just vaguely awkward for him at times. That could just be him though, and so he wouldn’t say anything about it. He wondered what movies they would be even watching actually, and if he should bring some. Though, really, if he was being honest Alfred had all the movies he had already. Thus, technically he only really needed to bring himself and the polar bear that never left his side. Idly, he wondered how warm or cold it would be, and figured it would probably be a bit warmer than it was in his country seeing as it was further south.
Sure Alfred had said to not bring anything, but did anyone ever actually listen to that? Besides, he was fairly certain that Alfred didn’t have fresh pies just lying about constantly, and he wanted an apple pie. Thus he made an apple pie and then headed over to Alfred’s house for movie night with his polar bear. He wasn’t too far behind Resa either, it had just taken him a little longer to get a pie together once he decided to make one, and so was probably a tad bit late. Actually, they probably wouldn’t have started without him, and when he walked in it didn’t look like they were waiting for him too much. Yes, he had just walked in, because honestly Alfred was his brother and clearly that meant he didn’t need to knock. Thought that could mean he may end up startling someone on accident. He heard Resa ask if she had beaten him here and smiled slightly figuring she had probably just walked in too if she was asking about him being there. ”Only slightly. I brought apple pie.” he said and put it on the counter. Pie could go with movies quite well as a part of a meal since apparently Resa was going to make something if he had heard correctly. ”What are you making?” he asked her curious as to what she would make. ”Alfred, did you figure out what movies we’re watching or is it going to be picking randomly from your collection?” he asked with a smile.

[style=border-top:5px solid #5165ae; margin-top: 0; font-size:10px; line-height:13px; text-align:justify; font-family: tahoma; text-transform:lowercase;] Alfred did expect that at least one of his neighbors would bring food. He usually brought food whenever he went to their houses, so why wouldn't it work the other way around?
The first to arrive was Teresa, which did not really surprise him. What surprised him was that she waited at the door rather than just entering. Both Resa and Mattie knew that they were welcome in Alfred's home at just about any time now. Alfred raised an eyebrow, heading for the door. It was then that he realized why she hadn't just entered the home. He started laughing as he unlocked the door and pulled it open. "Didn't know it was still locked." He explained.
He did lock the door when he wasn't expecting anyone, but it must have slipped his mind to unlock it for his brother and Resa amongst all the other preparations he'd made.
...which basically just consisted of making popcorn and making sure all the seasonings were out.
The taller nation grinned when Teresa asked if he was hungry. "Course I am!" It was really a silly question, given that Alfred seemed perpetually hungry. He wondered what Teresa brought with her. "What do you have?" He usually enjoyed her food, though every once in a while was caught off guard by some random spice or pepper that Teresa neglected to mention she added. Sometimes he wondered if she did it on purpose...
His back was to the door, meaning that his brother's entrance went unnoticed by him. Mattie was quiet enough that he hadn't announced it either (the way Alfred likely would have). Therefore, when Mattie finally did speak up, Alfred jolted a little. How the hell had his brother snuck up on him without him noticing?
Laughing a little, Alfred grinned and threw his arms around his brother, reaching up to his brother's head and giving him a noogie before practically yelling in the other nation's ear in his excitement. "Hey bro! Good, you took care of dessert!" He looked back to Resa, who apparently needed to use the kitchen to make her food. That clearly meant that whatever she was making was warm. That meant they had a snack, a meal of sorts, and a dessert. That sounded about perfect to him!
Now they just had to decide on what movies they were watching. "Hmm...well, since there's three of us here, maybe each of us could pick out a movie that we wanna see! Y'know, as long as I got it in my collection." That part was kind of important.[/style] [STYLE=font:10px arial; font-weight: bold;]tags: Teresa and Matthew words: 443 notes: Wewt credit: template made by razzle of btn[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:291px, btable;] [/style] |

She'd probably guilt herself into washing Alfred's pan later - but she did that all of the time. She would guilt herself into making sure that everything she had used would be clean by the time she left. She was just thankful that the American never bothered to move any of his stuff out of the spot where she remembered them. It made finding the pan a lot easier. A lot of people - and, by that, she mostly meant her kids - found it weird the ease their 'mother' felt whenever she spent time in Alfred's house. It wasn't home. It would never really be...home, but she snuck over all the time and had spend so much time here that it felt natural to her. Yes, it was true that she had been married to the blond, something she blamed on tequila and being one of the only times she had ever actually allowed herself to be drunk. She understood how and why some thought it was weird for them to hang out without bringing up that fact. Teresa always chalked it up to the fact that, while she loved the blond, she never loved him, not like the countries he fell for.
She had never loved him like she had loved Benito. Hell, she didn't even like him like she had liked Matthew. In her mind, the only reason she had ever allowed herself any peace of mind in that relationship was because she had never kept any secrets from him - cartels aside. She had wanted to be open and frank with their relationship because she what would happen if she wasn't, and Mateo was always too...sweet for her to want to get into a fight with. That in mind, she still found some occasions with him around...awkward. She tried her hardest to make it natural, but there were always those moments when the feeling would cave and she wouldn't know how to react. This movie party hadn't just been Alfred's idea. It had been hers, too, and so she was determined to keep things today unawkward. Heating the meat up wasn't that hard, and she was done in a couple of minutes. The rest of the sandwiches were finished, too. Neither of theirs had any of the stuff that she had, although she did keep an open mind and had brought the supplies with her, too. So far, every sandwich had lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese (not the yellow kind, though, because Resa had never been fond of if). Hers had the added avocado and jalapeños.
“Hola, Mateo," She greeted, turning off the stove and wiping her hands out. A single part of her had wanted to go and give the two of them a hug now that they were all together, but another part held back. That part won out, and so she grabbed some plates and handed the two boys their sandwiches with a half smile. “Tortas. I figured Alfred needed to try something better than una hamburguesa." Teresa was only partly kidding, too. Half of her had been tempted to slide in some jalapeños in his sandwich, too. She did it because she got a kick out of seeing their facial expressions once they realized what she did. But, that would be a prank she would pull another day as she moved all the dirty utensals into the sink before grabbing her own sandwich and grinning at the pie. “Looks fantastico, probably tastes better than what Alfredo can do, too." She aimed another shot at her friend, giggling. “Tomorrow morning, I insist on you making pancackes, Matthew. No he tenido any in a long time, and I really want some, si?" Teresa beamed, somewhat childishly.
“Por favor, amigo." She snorted, redirecting her attention and raising an eyebrow at him. “Es tu colección. I have no doubt in my mind that you have whatever movie we want to see...bueno, all of the big hit ones. I call picking a movie ultima, si?" Teresa smiled. “I don't know what I'm in the mood to see." It also meant he had snuck up on him again, which amused him to no end. Then he was mauled with hugs by his brother and squeaked slightly as things were yelled in his ear. Actually, he had hardly even heard Resa greet him because his ear was being shouted into. Thus, he settled with a wave at her before turning his attention back to his twin brother. ”Alfred…One day, you’re going to make me go deaf.” he said glad he had put down the pie before his brother had pounced him because now he was flailing about because he was being given a noogie. In response he reached out and started squeezing at Alfred’s sides to tickle him and so maybe he would give up on that. Though, that didn’t last long because then they were each handed a plate of food and thus he was figuring that Alfred would be too distracted to continue trying to maul his head anyway. He thus took his plate and started eating a bit. Hearing that Alfred needed to try something better than a hamburger he laughed slightly and shrugged. His brother would probably eat anything as long as you technically could, he was pretty sure that the twin wasn’t picky in the slightest. Or, if he was, Matt wasn’t sure what about. Then Resa kind of dissed Alfred’s cooking and while Al wasn’t a terrible cook, he was no star chef either. Being raised by England had to of had some sort of impact on his cooking ability.
Then heard that Mexico was insisting he made pancakes tomorrow morning because she hadn’t had them in a while and really wanted them. ”Yeah sure, I can make pancakes as long as Alfred has everything to make them. Do you bro?” he asked simply with a raised eyebrow. He kind of assumed he would, seeing as he usually did when Mattie came to visit, but he figured he would just check to make sure. It was entirely possible that Alfred had forgotten, and if that was the case they may have to go on a short shopping trip in the morning before breakfast. It wasn’t a big deal, but it would be a little annoying, after all it wasn’t as if there was much needed to make pancakes. There could even be different types of pancakes made if they wanted. He could just make a million and leave Alfred to figure out what to do with them if he felt like it. That could be slightly amusing actually, but he’d figure it out tomorrow morning when it came to that. Instead of continuing to ponder that he started eating the Torta that he had been handed. ”Well the Tortas taste good.” he commented with a smile before taking another bite.
The next topic that came up was what they were watching. Apparently Alfred figured they could each just pick a movie, and that was fine with him. He just kind of hoped that his twin or Resa wouldn’t pick horror movies because he was fairly certain he would go deaf from his brother screaming. He was also pretty sure his brother owned enough movies to keep them busy for months if they wanted, so picking a few might be a bit difficult. ”What time are we planning on staying up until? It might help us narrow out movies a bit. If we are planning on sleeping, we could probably narrow out some of the movies over three hours long.” he said with a slight smile at the other two nations. Kuma had finally made his way in and decided to go sit on Alfred’s foot as a sort of greeting. What a weird little polar bear he was.

Once Alfred felt that he'd sufficiently squeezed all of the air out of his brother's lungs (or, as others might call it, hugging), the middle nation pulled away with a grin. He was happy to see both Teresa and Matthew, but Mattie was his brother. That meant he'd get a more energetic welcome!
Alfred was just as comfortable with Teresa dropping by his house as she was visiting him - For the most part. He did prefer she give him a bit of warning rather than just turn up out of the blue, but seeing as Alfred did things spur of the moment a lot as well, he really wasn't one to talk.
Alfred was distracted by the feeling of Mattie's hands at his sides. He attempted to squirm out of his brother's grasp the moment he felt the sensation, knowing exactly what his brother was trying to do. It was no secret to Matthew that Alfred was ticklish. Matthew also knew exactly where to tickle him to elicit a reaction. Alfred's sides were one of his most ticklish areas. A few helpless guffaws exited Alfred's mouth, but soon both he and his brother were distracted with food.
The blond licked his lips when Teresa revealed that she brought tortas. "Mmm, can't wait to dig in!" He rubbed his hands together, raising an eyebrow slightly at Teresa's dig at hamburgers. "Hey, hamburgers are the food of the gods, you can't argue with that." There was no doubt in anyone's mind that hamburgers were Alfred's favorite food, though he would and did eat other things. He took one of the tortas and proceeded to take a large bite out of it.
When Mattie questioned him on whether or not he had the supplies for pancakes, Alfred proceeded to swallow the entire mouthful in one gulp. "Pretty sure I do." Alfred had Mattie covered, he was fairly certain. "If we're out of anything I can run out to the store to grab it tomorrow morning." Ah, the wonder of 24 hour convenience stores! Alfred took another bite out of his torta. He glanced at the clock. "Well, it's 5pm right now." Plenty of time, if you asked Alfred!
Alfred was suddenly aware of a weight pressing down on one of his feet - A warm weight. At first he thought it was his cat, Hero, but it turned out to be his brother's bear instead. Alfred grinned down, ripping off a piece of his torta and holding it out to Kuma. "Hungry?"

Sorry! DREAM [/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #6d6d6d;] [style=padding: 10px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 10px; height: 475px; overflow: auto; color: #1e1e1e;] The two North American brothers were dorks. There was no denying that. But, they were dorks in their own special way and it was endearing. It meant that they weren't as annoying as a lot of the other countries – admittedly, her 'siblings' and 'cousins' from further south, depending on who you asked – made them to be. She could see why she had to constantly defend them, and it was usually more Alfred than it was Matthew, but they were endearing. Teresa was pretty sure that, if everyone could see the way the two were acting right now, they might even change their minds...until anything political came up, but she would rather not think about that and focus on what was currently going on because her eye twitched. “That's blasphemy and you know it, amigo.” She frowned, giving Alfred a pointed look that was meant to be joking as much as it was meant to be serious. “Nah, I wouldn't say that. I'd say that they're the type of food that you eat when you want to get something out quickly that won't taste awful.” Of course, tortas were just as easy to make as hamburgers and a lot of it was the same, but she wasn't about to tell him that.
Resa figured it would be kind of an awkward thing to ask. She hadn't expected for Matthew to agree so easily. Hell, she didn't know if Alfred had everything that needed to be ready – she supposed she could go through his drawers later whenever the two of them had fallen asleep just to make sure – but still. She had been staying in Mexico City, not that her capital was particularly happy about it. If she had judged the time right, she was an hour behind both of them. That coupled with sleeping late thanks to her new jefe, her sleeping pattern was way off the charts. “Estupendo~” She tried not to show off just how happy she was to be getting pancakes. It wasn't that Teresa couldn't make any – because, she could. She was very good at making food; it came with the centuries of preparing them, but they never seemed to have the same flavor as the ones the Canadian made. It was like heaven was celebrating in her mouth. “I would kill for your pancakes, Mateo.” Teresa said absently before taking a bite out of her own sandwich. While she had never actually killed someone, she had gotten very close to maiming one of her own children whenever they had eaten the last one the very last time Matthew had ever visited her and left her some. It had been a reflex, and it wasn't as if Nuevo Leon hadn't learned his lesson to never, ever touch anything that had her name scribbled on the plate.
“Normally, I would say horror movies...but they all have ghosts lately, y I don't want to be reminded of a neighbor that won't go away.” Her voice was a lot more deadpanned than she had meant it to, and she was pretty sure her eye was twitching, but it wasn't her fault! It was La Llorona's fault for never leaving her alone to begin with! She had even called England to try to make the stupid thing go away, and it wouldn't. She didn't know what to do, although she was pretty sure that the next thing she was going to call was going to end up being her lovely little Russian friend to see if Ivan couldn't scare the stupid ghost. “But, Alfred would scream and insist on using one of us for a pillow...and I'm not getting aplastada, ni creo that you want to, either. So...” Teresa shrugged with a thoughtful look crossing over her face. “I'd say romantic comedies, but those are...bleh. Clásicos?” She grinned at the small bear making its way towards Alfred. For a second, she was reminded of Orgullo and how much her precious little black kitty hated being around all the other cats, particularly Alfred's 'Hero'. “Wow, Mateo. I haven't seen him in forever, either.” [/style] |

It also usually ended with one of them accidentally getting punched in the face, but that was not applicable at the moment thankfully. Especially seeing as it was usually him that got whapped rather than Alfred. Rather than going into much more though he grabbed the plate and started eating. He laughed as Resa seemed very much not amused by Alfred calling hamburgers food of the gods. Actually, now that he thought of it, that probably could be considered some sort of blasphemy as Resa said it was.
Then the topic moved to breakfast, and if they had the supplies for it. Apparently they all agreed that whether they had the stuff or not, they were going to have pancakes. Well, at least they all agreed on breakfast then. Though the time was going to be debatable he imagined because some got up earlier than others in their group. While this was being decided, Mattie decided to eat most of his torta, and just raised an eyebrow when Resa admitted she would kill for his pancakes. That was special to say the least. He wasn’t sure why anyone thought his were more special than your average pancake, but that was perfectly fine with him. ”I’m not sure if you’re exaggerating or not…” he said simply with a thoughtful look on his face. Sometimes it was hard to tell with her and sometimes even his brother whether or not they were exaggerating or being serious. It was how you said things, and how well you knew the person that determined how you took things, but with those two it could go either way.
Then Kuma was on Alfred’s foot, and was being offered food which he gladly took. ”I think Kuma is always hungry.” Mattie noted and offered the polar bear a piece of his as well which was taken and nommed. Well, at least it wasn’t junk food or alcohol, neither of which the nation appreciated when people tried to feed such things to his bear. The topic moved to what they were going to watch, and honestly he had no idea. He did have a slight feeling that Alfred may pick the Captain America movie at some point though, just because it was Alfred and it seemed like something his brother would pick. At least someone agreed on no horror movies, because honestly he might end up screaming with his brother depending on which one it was. Some of them were just plain creepy after all, and he was sure Mexico liked having hearing, and if both of the brothers were screaming, she would probably not have any at the end of the movie. He watched as Kuma started wandering off, probably to go find Hero the cat, and pondered movies. ”I don’t like getting squished, and I’m sure some of us in the room don’t want to go deaf. Bleh on romantic comedies, and we could always go with action or adventure movies.” he said with a shrug.
