Gilbert & Francis
Well.. Apart from those historical...shall we say, disagreements, such as the Franco-Prussian Wars, and even the Napoleonic Wars, though not on such a huge scale, etc. I think they'd be pretty damn good friends in modern times. I'm a fan of the Bad Touch Trio, and I daresay Gil would be up for anything and everything in terms of having a good time, and generally wreaking havoc on the world, if that's all awesome with you?

france & mexico I figured she would be. >) I’ll start on it soon. france & scotland Of course! France is never one to turn down such an offer. (S'pecially from him. ;D) We should start immediately. Did you mean as in like a thread? france & prussia Pruuusssssia! Yes, yes, a hundred times yes. xD I agree. Aside from those pesky past conflicts, I also think that these two would get along very well nowadays. Bad Touch Trio ftw! Now, we just need to snatch Spain over into our little posse. (Or just abduct him.) I think a thread between them would be hilariously good. So, yes, that’s completely and far above awesome with me.

france & prussia
Yuuusssss! We should! And have awesome times, yus? Although there's so damn much we could do with these guys I never know where to start. But in terms of these two in general, I was thinking... Being the awesomely egotistical person that Gil just happens to be, he has a lot of trouble expressing his feelings, if they would appear (in his mind) to cause him to come across as...weak, for lack of a better word. So he tends to bottle up a lot, and doesn't really have many, or any, people he is comfortable with opening up to. So perhaps, under certain circumdtances, Francey here could be that person? Althoguh obviously he's not gonna come crying to him for /everything/, and of course it'll take a lot for him to open up even to him. Because he's just that proud awesome. I don't know. Just coming up with stuff. XDD But yus, I'm awful with plotting, so...yus. ^^" Sorry

france & prussia We would have awesome times! It would be impossible not to with them. X) D’aww, I like that idea. Of course Francey can be that person. Beneath his eccentricities, he does have the capability to be that genuine sort of friend as well, and understands that virtually unseen side of the awesome, proud Gil. Although Francis might wait until he feels comfortable with revealing whatever he needs to. I think they would know each other pretty well and can just sort of tell when they need to have those occasional serious moments alongside the awesome ones. ^^ No, you’re ideas are fantastic! I would love to thread these two! xD
Thank youuuuuu Rye! I’ll get on that.

France and Michigan - I feel like these two should be plotted, considering what eventually became Michigan used to be French territory. SO it's likely she knew Francis from that time. How she'd get along with him? Well...that's a good question. I'm trying to think if she'd appreciate him and think back fondly on her times with him before she was turned over to the British (and then to the U.S.), or if she'd hate him for selling her, even if it turned out to be the best in the end.
...or both, but with her, it tends to be one way or another more often than not.

france & michigan Oh wow, that was quick. XD So, whoot, a state! Alrighty, then. I'm going to start off by saying that France thinks she's adorable. XD And not in a weird way. (For once, I can say that with him.)
I know you said not both, as it's probably one way or the other with her, but is it possible for her to have some sort of resentment initially without it really being there in the present? I think initial resentment would only be natural. XP But I'm not sure if it would be so blown out or ongoing after all the good things that came from it (as you said), such as being part of the nation that she is now and him not having much choice in the matter during that period in time. Tiiiight situation.
Thoughts? Or complete revision of my thoughts? XD

France and Michigan - Actually, I do think it's possible. She tends to hold grudges, but at the same time, over two hundred years have passed, and overall she understands now that she ended up better off with America anyway. Besides, she certainly wasn't alone...a large chunk of what is now the U.S. was originally French territory.
So yes, I'll amend my previous statement. She would have probably held a grudge for a while, but then she would have eventually come around. Just might have taken her a bit longer than some of the other states. XD

We could do a thread from their early years, during the whole Roman Empire thing. France is one of the few people still around who'd known Scotland from his barbarian days, and one of the even fewer old enough to fully remember it. Of course, back then they were Gallia and Caledonia, but that's hardly relevant! >.>

Oh no, please, the starting post is yours. ^.^ Though either way, France/Gaul/Whatever would need to be in Caledonia, since Scotland isn't exactly going out of his own territory at the moment.

Post by Roroa "New Zealand" Greenstone on May 3, 2013 12:49:17 GMT -5
NEW ZEALAND and FRANCE
For the most part relations between France and New Zealand are good. But there was a period of time in the 1980s and 1990s where they were at odds. France was doing Nuclear testing at Moruroa which is really not that far from New Zealand. New Zealand had passed an anti-nuclear policy. This, paired with France’s bombing of the Rainbow Warrior in a New Zealand Port (Auckland harbour) caused a nasty strain. The ship, Rainbow Warrior, was on its way to interfere with nuclear tests happening in Moruroa and the French Foreign intelligence services sank it in the harbour.
So this leaves room for tensions, but for the most part I can see these two having gotten along. There would be periods of time where Roa had a crush on Francis, but if you read more on Roa, you’ll quickly discover interest in only the romantic side. Roa is asexual and more interested in a romantic social relationship than what constitutes a normal relationship. Whether there was ever a period they ‘dated’ by Roa’s standards is up to you. If so, it is also important to note Roa doesn’t care if the date sexually sleeps around, as long as the romance is localized toward Roa.

france & new zealand Yes, I agree that for the most part, relations between Francis and Roa are probably pretty good (aside from the drama in the 80’s and 90’s, of course.) For that period in history, I can definitely see some tensions, as that was a serious matter. Overall; however, I agree that they probably get along pretty well for the most part. I absolutely love that you’ve made Roa asexual and still included that romantic side to him. Right on! XD Francis, being who he is, is just as passionate in his romantic side as he is in keeping a vigorous sexual appetite other facets of his love life… So, I can definitely see them dating strictly by Roa’s standards at some point. ;D Francis would have a field day in returning romantic gestures and showering him with gifts and so on.
