If she could deadpan and smack him across the head without making herself feel short or hurting what remnants of the cuts she had on her, she might have done it right at that moment. Honestly, Alfred and Arthur were so silly. A centruy and a half? That made her feel...so old! She shivered slightly, and she had to physically stop herself from getting dejected. “You're an idiota, amigo. Te amo, but you are.” She informed him, not very lightly, but with enough lightheartedness in her voice for him to – hopefully, anyway – understand that she was still partly teasing him. “One day, and don't ask me when, but one day, I'm going to get the two of you in the same room, y I'm going to make you two talk about everything. That's ridiculous.” She nodded once. Spain had had a fight with all of his kids. Some of them were simultaneous, but there were some that were back to back. These were “kids” that he had raised for the longest time. Most of them didn't even know how to talk – she had, but that was because she had been raised by both Maya and Aztec, so it was different.
“Honestly, you're both grown men. I expected better – from Arturo, at least!” Teresa shook her head, partly warily but with a small smile on her face. She didn't know England as well as the others did. Sure, it was obvious that their respective countries had some interaction, especially when Alfred dragged her to things, but not enough for her to feel a hundred percent comfortable with scolding him, but this was different. This was because of Alfred, and she felt perfectly fine getting onto other people on his behalf (although, she had to admit...as his ex-wife, she got a particular kick out of telling whatever nation he had gotten involved with that fact and then walking them through the fact that they were no longer going to be in a relationship with the blond.) Her smile dipped slightly, and she nodded her head once. “Hmm. It was different for me. I've never really had a...a regular citizen, and I can't say that I've ever loved anyone como I loved Ben. Those days were difficult for me – so much worse than when I fought with you, or even when I fought for my independence. The people I was fighting were my own people, and so it hurt. I loved Maxi, even though he wasn't...mine, but Ben...” She sighed.
She didn't give him a pitying look, because she didn't pity him. She empathized, sure. It was just one of those things that they shared in common. “Hey, it happens, no?” She grinned, giggling a little. “I'm happy for your Sarah, because she got to be happy. Besides, your marriage wouldn't have worked out.” Teresa looked about, teasingly before leaning in. “You're an awful husband.” She was teasing of course. Aside from the...“unions” that she had been forced into, Alfred had really been Teresa's only marriage, and she didn’t like to think about it. The others weren't marriages that she would consider because they were never realized through the church. They were always a civil thing that was more for the benefits of their country than anyone else. “Also, you'll be proud to know that I've not gotten that drunk since.” That drunk being the keyword. Resa didn't like to admit it, but she did spend a lot of time around the bars. Not always drinking – because, honestly, not a lot of places had good tequila like she made at home, and so the Mexican had to bring her own – but enough for people to question.
She raised an eyebrow and resisted the urge to grin as he pouted. “Yeah, you keep telling yourself that. Even that molesto de Tejas has better pronunciation than you do. You should be ashamed of yourself.” She tisked, although it wasn't as though she was any better. She tended to roll her 'r's, especially if the world had it as a predominant sound.
