Hair: Short and light blond
Height and Weight: five eight, one hundred and twenty five pounds
Other Distinguishing Features:
Rather large chest area ....>>..<<...
A few more noticeable scars on her face and stomach after WWII
Overall Appearance:
Definitely taller then the average girl and built to last as some would say. Bri is far more curved then she would actually like to be but maintains a toned physique from working out regularly, but no amount of work is going to get those double dee's off her chest, she has found that out the hard way. Her golden blond hair is always kept cut short so it doesn't get in her way when she's doing something important, and her vibrant blue eyes always seem to have a way of being narrowed critically.
Brigitte has rather strong features for a woman, a little more angular then most and always set into something between an exasperated look and a perma-scowl. It's rare to catch a smile on her face but if you do, you can tell that she isn't a completely cold hard bitch. Normally seen wearing her uniform, the top open showing off a tank top that doesn't quite make it halfway down to her navel in the warmer seasons, or with a long matching and formfitting trench coat in the winter. If not that then a pair of loose purple pants with a white tank top and purple barrette, knee high lace up black boots and black gloves. On the more special occasions you can catch the woman in a little black dress, if she's going out though she can get a little edgy, but she always carries a large hunting knife with her no matter what the situation.

Overall Personality:
Brigitte is complicated, to say the least. At first glance the woman gives off the vibe of being a frosty, rather frigid bitch. There's generally a scowl on her face and she isn't by any means the rainbows and butterflies sort. Growing up in a time and place that was predominately patriarchal and where women were expected to pop out children and cook meant that Bri had to work twice as hard to be thought of as half as good at anything she did, and showing any sort of emotion constituted weakness, because of that the woman learned early on how to keep her expression stoic.
She comes across rather like a robot when it comes to business because of that, keeping a mean poker-face at almost all times because she feels it's more efficient to not let her emotions get in the way of whatever it is she has to do, and simply because she doesn't want to be looked down on as a weak and emotional female, it's something that has hung over her head for so long that Brigitte just can't shake that particular fear. The woman is also, simply put, allergic to bullshit. She expects and demands the best of everyone and everything around her, partially because she wants them to achieve the best that they can, and because anything less is deemed inefficient and a gross waste of unused potential which means that she comes off as more then a bit bossy and overbearing at times. The woman only has the interest of the people around her at heart though, really.
On the other side of the coin though, Brigitte is still a woman, no matter how much she tries to play down that particular fact. She has a soft spot for children and though she definitely tries to hide it Brigitte loves soft fuzzy cute creatures, there's an instinctual need to feed anyone deemed 'too skinny' and take care of anyone she cares for, be it cooking, cleaning, sewing a button back on a jacket, or hemming a pair of uniform pants. In fact she just has that fawning old mother thing going for her deep down, it's just catching her in the act that happens to be the hard part.
When she isn't being stoic over work or fussing over someone she does actually like to relax a little and have some fun, which generally includes proverbially letting her hair down and enjoying the bustling nightlife of her city. Bri likes to have a few drinks, dance, and do things she wouldn't normally, like getting talked into going skinny dipping in the Spree river. All work and no play right? The trick is to not let partying spill over into every day life and being the competent woman that she is, she's learned how to walk that line well. Bri makes sure that her bosses think she doesn't know how to have fun for many reasons.
See? Complicated. There's definitely more facets to the woman that meets the eye, and someone thinks they have her fully figured out she's adapted and changed to something knew, always trying to keep the uppermost image of the frigid competent soldier as the one that everyone identifies her by. Brigitte isn't actually all that frigid either, actually possessing the ability to be quite the sensual sort, figuring that if she has to be a woman, she may as well use it to her advantage right? Spending so much time with men she's learned what buttons to push and knows just how to do it if the need ever arises, good luck seeing that side of her though.

I'm the hero!
Ridiculously Early History:
[li] About 720 AD: Rival Slav tribes settle into the region, Berlin is yet nameless and shies away from them
[/li][li]983 AD: The Slavs rise up against German settlement and their religious ways, burning monasteries and killing German priests/ other officials and effectively scaring little Brigitte into keeping even farther away from them.
[/li][li]12th Century: German monarchs manage to reclaim much of the land from the pagan Slavs, bringing with them protective walled in towns, keeping the people safe from attack.
[/li][li]1150: Albert the Bear inherits areas of land and his descendents start the process of Christianizing and cultivating the land, opening the way for the small fishing and farming villages that Berlin is later comprised of.
13th-14th Century:
[/li][li]1244: Berlin is first mentioned in documents, the grandsons of Albert the Bear, Otto and Johann, succeed in giving the until then elusive girl a name.
[/li][li]1251: First mention of city rights for Berlin, two years later the city is given its own seal on documents, two upright bears with Brandenburg red eagle in the center, Bri thinks its rather nifty looking
[/li][li]1307: Berlin participates in the Hanseatic League, trading with other Baltic areas, urban growth begins and goes on for the next four hundred years.
15th–17th century:
[/li][li]1415: Frederick I became the elector of the Margraviate of Brandenburg, ruling for the next 25 years and Berlin finds herself well acquainted and under the rule of many different members of the Hohenzollern family until 1918. Becoming the preferred residency of the Hohenzollerns, she had to give up her Hanseatic League free city status and her main economical activity changed from trade to the production of luxurious goods for the court.
[/li][li]1443 to 1451: The first Berliner Stadtschloss was built on the embankment of the river Spree, population numbers begin skyrocketing and Brigitte sprouts up like a tree, showing the makings of a tall and lovely young lady.
[/li][li]1448: The people of Berlin rebelled in the "Berlin Indignation" against the construction of a new royal palace by Frederick II Irontooth. This protest was not successful, however, and the citizenry lost many of its political and economic privileges.
[/li][li]1576: Bri feels sickness for the first time as the Bubonic plague seeps in and kills about 4,000 people in the city
[/li][li]1618 to 1648: The Thirty Years' War had devastating consequences for Berlin. A third of the houses were damaged, and the city lost half of its population. During this time Frederick William promotes religious and immigrate tolerance in the city, also developing a standing army and Berlin is recognized as an important city by others for the first time. Bri starts working on the stoic nature that she will become famous for later on.
[/li][li]1674 and after: The Dorotheenstadt was built in a bow of the river Spree, followed by the Friedrichstadt being built and settled and many French immigrants start influencing the culture of the city.
Kingdom of Prussia:
[/li][li]1701: Elector Frederick III crowns himself Frederick I, King of Prussia and has the castle Charlottenburg built in the west of the city. Berlin is made the capital of Prussia and Brigitte has her first meeting with a narcissistic albino.
[/li][li]1740: Frederick II, known as Frederick the Great, came to power. Berlin became, under the rule of the enlightened monarch, a center of Enlightenment thinkers like Moses Mendelssohn, Brigitte spends much of her time becoming enthralled with science and philosophy
[/li][li]1760: Berlin was briefly occupied by the Russian Army in the Raid on Berlin during the Seven Years' War. So begins Brigitte's deep dislike of Russia.
[/li][li]1806: French troops marched into Berlin. Berlin was granted self-government and a far reaching military reform was started.
[/li][li]1810: The Berlin University, now the Humboldt University was founded
[/li][li]1814: The French were defeated in the Sixth Coalition, the population doubles and Berlin is now the fourth largest european city
[/li][li]1815: Battle of Waterloo with Prussian troops from Potsdam and Berlin participating. Berlin becomes part of the Province of Brandenburg. Even though she's a woman, Brigitte is too headstrong to take no for an answer and appears in the front lines of the battle, refusing to ever be caught unawares again the way she was by Russia.
[/li][li]1827: Berlin is made the capital of the Province of Brandenburg until 1843
[/li][li]1848: A revolution attempts to take place. Frederick William IV squashes it without a second thought. One of his reactions was to raise the income condition to partake in the elections, with the result that only 5% of the citizens could vote. This system would stay in place until 1918, Brigitte is not pleased with the treatment of her citizens, but she can't go against her boss
[/li][li]19th century: The Industrial Revolution transformed Berlin; the city's economy and population expanded dramatically, and it became the main rail hub and economic center of Germany, Bri finds tinkering with machinery to be a new favorite past time.
1870: France defeated by Prussia and alliance of German states in the Franco-Prussian War, a year later Berlin became capital of the newly-founded German Empire after the unification of Germany. Brigitte is becoming tired of getting passed around as Capital, and is beginning to have a few abandonment issues.
German Empire:
[/li][li]1875-1889: The economic boom caused by the new role of Berlin being an industrial city and now capital of the new empire was followed by a crisis in the second half of the 1870s.
[/li][li]1884: Construction of the parliament building, the Reichstag, was commenced, Brigitte was getting a face lift so to speak
[/li][li]1914-1918: WWI left the city starving, Brigitte had never felt hunger so bad before and her pride broke, begging for aid to help feed the people
[/li][li]1918: When the war ended, Wilhelm II stepped down and Brigitte was far from sad to see that particular asshole go. The socialist Philipp Scheidemann at the Reichstag and the communist Karl Liebknecht at the Castle both proclaimed a republic. Berlin became a battleground between the two political systems in the coming months, especially after the Weimar Republic was proclaimed.
Weimar Republic:
[/li][li] December 1918: The Communist Party of Germany (Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands, KPD) was founded in Berlin.
[/li][li]--January 1919: It tried to seize power (the Spartacist revolt). The coup failed and at the end of the month right-wing forces killed the Communist leaders Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht.
[/li][li]--March 1920: Wolfgang Kapp, founder of the right wing German Fatherland Party (Deutsche Vaterlands-Partei), tried to bring down the government. The Berlin garrison chose his side, and the government buildings were occupied (the government had already left Berlin). Only a general strike could stop this putsch.
[/li][li]--October 1, 1920: The Greater Berlin Act created "Greater Berlin" (Groß-Berlin) by incorporating several neighboring towns and villages like Charlottenburg, Köpenick or Spandau from the Province of Brandenburg into the city; Berlin's population doubled overnight from about 2 to nearly 4 million inhabitants.
[/li][li]1922: The foreign minister Walther Rathenau was murdered in Berlin. The city was in shock: half a million people attended his funeral, Brigitte was one of them, feeling a particular sense of foreboding
[/li][li]1924: Inflation nearly brought the country to its knees, but after an agreement with allied forces, American help, and a better fiscal policy being instituted Berlin was in its hayday, showing itself to be one of the cultural centers of Europe, along with a blooming nightlife.
[/li][li]1929: The crash of 1929 hit the city hard, and the lose of jobs to an already shaky economy caused a rift between the people and the government, and that was the year that the Nazi party won its first seats in the city parliamet.
[/li][li]1932: the Prussian government under Otto Braun in Berlin was dismissed by presidential decree, the republic was being hit on all sides and the next year Hitler became Chancellor of Germany.
Third Reich:
[/li][li]1933: February 27, 1933 the Reichstag building was set on fire. The fire gave Hitler the opportunity to set aside the constitution and was pivotal for the establishment of Nazi Germany.
[/li][li]1937-1943: It was the true beginning of the German 'Final Solution' out of the 160,000 Jews that occupied the city 1,200 managed to escape the fate of being carted off to Auschwitz or other camps by hiding in Berlin. Deep scars from such a high number of deaths are beginning to appear on Brigitte's body, she hides them and the pain though, and does as she's told.
[/li][li]--1940: An Allied air-raid on Berlin for propaganda purposes, the woman is less then pleased
[/li][li]1943: Allied bombardment of Berlin started in earnest. Raids on German major cities grew in scope and raids of over 1,000 4-engined bombers were not uncommon by 1944. On March 18, 1945 alone, for example, 1,250 American bombers attacked the city and so comes Brigitte's fear of planes flying overhead
[/li][li]April 1945: The Battle of Berlin. Already weak and injured from a combination of loosing such a large chunk of her people and the constant air raids overhead, Brigitte didn't stand a chance when the Soviets managed to breech the city. The few German soldiers left in the city were under equipped and outnumbered but they all fought the best they could and Bri and the soldiers managed to hold them off for twelve days.
[/li][li]--April 30th: Hitler and a few of his closest followers committed suicide in the Führerbunker underneath the Reich Chancellery.
[/li][li]May 2, 1945: The city finally fell to the Soviets, barely able to move let alone keep fighting the shame of surrender still hovers over Brigitte's head to this day, especially after the things the Red Army did while they occupied the city. Bri see's the scar on her face as a proverbial scarlet letter from that day.
[/li][li]1945: Berlin is divided up amongst the allies, Brigitte wonders what exactly will become of her and her city at this point, scared of what is to come.
[/li][li]1948: "Berlin Blockade" Soviets attempt to block ground access to West Berlin in hopes of gaining control of the rest of the city, the allies fight back with "die Luftbrücke"eventually the Soviets concede and allow ground access again.
[/li][li]June 17 1953: Construction Workers call a strike in East Berlin that snowballs into rioting, Soviet troops had to be called in to quell the uprising and had to resort to deadly force, killing at least 153 people. June 17th is proclaimed a national holiday in honor of the strike in West Germany. Still battered, broken, and now divided Brigitte can't help the pride she feels for her people as they give those damn Soviets the proverbial middle finger.
[/li][li]August 13, 1961: The East German government starts building a wall to literally divide the city in two, Brigitte feels like a part of her is dying as she watches the cursed wall go up, unsure what to do with herself, most of her time is spent sitting on the Wall, caught between the two sides with tears in her eyes.
[/li][li]The 1960's-70's: The German students revolt against the wall, the economy on the west side is in shambles after being cut off , young radicals are beginning to crop up in the city. When the Cold War gains steam, Berlin is caught in the middle of espionage from both sides
[/li][li]1989: Someones forgot to cross a 'T' and dot an 'I' and the gates of the Wall open to let people through, never to close again, instead the people begin to tear the wall down. For the first time in a long time Brigitte starts to feel whole again
[/li][li]1990-1991: Germany and Berlin are reunited, only small sections of the Wall still stand, Bri could honestly say she had never been happier to see a certain tall German blond. When the German Parliament, the Bundestag vote to make her the capital of Germany once again she cries with joy, though she will forever deny it and say there was just some dust in her eye.
[/li][li]1994: The Allies and Russians follow the agreement from the Two Plus Four Treaty and finally leave Berlin, Bri has developed something of a soft spot for the childish American troops by that point, but if she never sees another Russian soldier in her city she can die happy
