Despite the fact that she is more than centuries- if not millenia- years old, her appearance and vigor does not show it; compared to most nations, capitals and regions of old time, she is still vivid, fresh, ready to move around and about as if age, for her, does not matter. In fact, it was easy to say that, like her appearance, she does not act her age hence the surprise of any younger nations and its sub-category to realize that this pint-size female with an unusual hat and an energetic vibe is actually older than they once thought.
Understandable.
However, there are times that she takes things seriously, like what an old-timer should, and shoulders the work-load of the nation when he's not around. She still have her evergreen appearance, but she takes things into more consideration than when she's on her downtime. Besides, as one of the oldest capitals in the world, and the one who saw everything from the rise and fall of the Greek empire till the present, it was not surprising how she is more often than not corrects the younger nation after her that she is not the daughter of the old Athens that served Ancient Greece once upon a time before her downfall at the hands of the Ottoman Empire.
She is, in fact, Athens; both Old and New, past and present.
It was one of those days where she doesn't have anything to do, that she is free to do whatever she wants while Greece is left sleeping to who-knows-where, her cheerful facade being quite infectious to tourists and natives here and around. While she also engages in conversation with them and tour them around Athens here and there, most of the time she is seen within the city square playing along with the rest of the children. With her appearance, Athens have no difficulty blending in with the children and acting as a child herself with her personality despite hiding the fact that, once upon a time, she was a grand and beautiful capital. Well, past is past, she thought with a nod, adjusting the hat that represents a famous structure, Parthenon (for some reason, there is a replica of it somewhere in America, but she'll bother about it someday), before loafing around once more with her cheerful vibe.
All in all, it was a good day to be here.

OOC: Jumping in, if you don't mind~ --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------
As Romano strolled down the streets of Athens, admiring the sights and doing his best to avoid bumping into all the people occupying the streets, he couldn’t help but feel just a tad nostalgic. Looking at the people, listening to their language and gazing upon the ruins and the older buildings… it all reminded him of the days of “Magna Græcia”. He remembered all the good, the bad and everything in between like no time had passed at all and yet, how long had it actually been by now? Two thousand? More? He couldn’t tell, couldn’t put the time gone by into any words coined by humans. After all, humans saw time very differently from him.
To humans, fifty years was a long time, a period during which so much could change; wars could start and begin, people could die and give birth, and “new” could become “old”. But to Romano, and to all other countries like him, fifty years was nothing. It wasn’t even long enough time for a generation to die and a new one to start. A second, a year, a century, those were all subjective things. Humans had just given them numbers and values to try and have some sort of control over time, a might they could never hope to understand, let alone control. Arrogant idiots.
Romano shook his head to clear away all the philosophical mumbo-jumbo that had scattered into his mind. With a sigh, he took a long sip from the orange juice he had been caryying along since morning, hoping the cool liquid could help clear his mind. He really shouldn’t have visited Greece so often; it seemed to be doing funny things to his head, making him think about useless stuff. He hated that. Thinking always made his head hurt and feel heavy, and neither feeling was welcome when he was on a visit to sightsee and maybe, if he happened to be in the mood later on, pick up some girls. Have fun. Do what he did best and get away from all the work he was supposed to be doing back home.
Wiping the corners of his mouth clean, the Italian stretched, eyes now cast towards the skies and the sun. In all honesty, he had both beaches and sun back home too. He hardly had to get out of the country to find relaxation, yet here he was, time and time again, wandering Greece's streets. Well, either that or Spain's, and considering what awaited him whenever he entered Spanish soil… yeah, his Eastern neighbor was the better choice a lot of the time. He might’ve not hated Spain as much as he claimed, but sometimes he just wanted to be left the hell alone. Back at home he was constantly at a risk of being tackled by his brother – another person he did care about but just couldn’t stand all the time – and reminded of his awaiting workpile, while as here in Greece, he could far from anything that wanted to disturb his alone time. Greece was way too lazy a fucker to come bother him.
Tired of walking around, the Italian decided to just… sit down somewhere and have his siesta a little earlier than usual today. He looked around, standing on his toes to see past the people and the cars, trying desperately to find a place to sit. A bench, an unoccupied wall short enough for him to climb on, anything to lie down his ass and close his eyes for a few minutes.
He was so focused on trying to find a sitting place, that he completely ignored the girl walking towards him until he had suddenly stumbled down from his toes and almost literally bumped into her.
“Woah!” Romano exclaimed, barely avoiding collision and taking a few steps backward just in case he might fall again. He was squeezing his can of orange juice tightly, holding it high to avoid it spilling on either of the two. Wouldn't do to mess a girl's clothes, even if he wasn't particularly looking to hit on anyone today.
“Sorry about that," he apologized, looking the girl over to see if she was alright. "Wasn’t really… watching where I was going and shit. My bad.”

As much as possible, she want it to be hustling and bustling as if it's nobody's business, better than they are frantic about the declining economy of Greece thanks to the European economy having some issues as of late. It was a bad idea since everyone's affected by it, and it was also too bad since Greece is affected as well so Athens was having a hard time not to take things seriously whenever the European Union topic arise. Then again, she doesn't have work today (even if she's in a child-like form? Yes, she still works) so she might as well leave that to someo-
"Oof~"
Whoever bumped him must be taller since the female bumped to what seems to be someone's chest (she wasn't looking in the way, it seems) before she fell down on the ground with a thud, her hat falling in the process. Rubbing her sore nose, the blonde-haired capital wailed silently to herself for a few moments before she shook her head and looked around for her missing hat. As she stood up, the shorter female heard the male apologize as she picked up her hat, gave it a pat to remove the dust, before wearing it on her head and taking note on the male's appearance.
For some reason, he looks a LOT like that old man Rome that she used to hang out with along with Ancient Greece once upon a time.
No, it can't b-
"Haaa~a?"
Blinking her indigo optics, the short capital gave a tilt as she looked properly at the male, adjusting her beige hat in the process. Same brown hair, same eyes, that curl in the hair... yep, looks a LOT like old man Rome, possibly a brother to Veneziano that she visited a few days back to check up on him. However, she decided not to ask that; he probably don't know that she's the same Athens- the same, beautiful, brave and wonderful Athens- that tags along and helps Ancient Greece who seem to have something with Ancient Rome years and years ago... or something, she couldn't remember with all the numbers. This would probably pacify her boredom.
"Oh! It's alright," The young female said with a vigorous wave of a hand while her other still holding at the brim of her hat. "I wasn't looking in the way so it was partially my fault." It was a bit ironic how she's meeting Ancient Rome's grandsons here in the flesh (well, she DID met the other one), but he seems to not know her as of yet. Well, she wasn't expecting, since she look small, flat and childish compared to what she used to look like once upon a time, but this would be an interesting morning.

--------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------
As Romano watched the girl look for her hat, he couldn’t help but get familiar vibes from her. Not only did she look awfully familiar to the Italian, but he could feel she wasn’t exactly human. He didn’t get the same “country vibes” as he did from his brethren, but it was something close. He knew the feel. It was the same kind he felt around other “cities”. So then, seeing how he ran into her here, she must’ve been… Athens? He had probably caught a few glances of her before on his previous visits, but considering the amount of people he saw every day, it was no wonder he hadn’t remembered her face at first. Even now he wasn't sure if his guesses were right.
By the time Romano snapped out of his thoughts, the girl had already stood up. Instantly the Italian started to mentally scold himself or not having offered her a hand, or at least picked up her hat for her. That was no way to treat a girl. He must've looked like an asshole, just standing there and watching her get up on her own.
Luckily, she seemed to be uninjured by the impact at least, if a little… surprised? Romano cocked an eyebrow at her stare and her blinking. It made him feel sort of uncomfortable. Was there something on his face? Did he not wipe away all of the juice earlier? Had he met him before? They hadn't been on a date or anything before, right? Because he knew from experience that forgetting those never spelled good. Girls could be really scary when pissed. Whatever the case, Romano felt his face grow a little hot from the awkwardness, and he quickly looked away to try and hide it. Damn it, not the greatest start to a day off.
Having endured the staring for a while, Romano as finally just about to tell her to knock off the ogling, when she did it on her own accord in favor of opening her mouth to talk. Romano sort of feared what she'd say, but was quickly positively surprised. She didn't seem to be his previous date then. Good. Very good. She seemed too young for him anyway.
"Oh! It's alright," she literally handwaved, and Romano couldn’t help but wonder how old was this girl anyway? She seemed short, very cheery, and just overall young, immature, even. Was she really a city, let alone a capital, or was he just getting vibes from nowhere? Most of the other nations and cities he knew were a lot older. Then again, he admitted to not being familiar with the way it all... worked. The whole personification thing and all.
"I wasn't looking in the way so it was partially my fault."
Well, at least she was polite. Romano could appreciate that, even if he disagreed with her words.
“No, it wasn’t,” was all the Italian retorted with initially, before he let a small grin grace his lips and continued. “It’s never a chick’s fault if someone bumps into them like that. It was all my bad.” He looked down at his juice and groaned. “I’d give you some as an apology but… yeah, gone. All of it, damn it.”
He threw the bottle over his shoulder without a second thought, only realizing that littering the girl’s home probably wasn’t all that smart – especially if she was the personification of this place. Which led him to his next question.
“Sorry but… gotta ask. Are you, by any chance, a... city?” He sure hoped his vibes were working, because if they weren’t, he must’ve sounded hella stupid right now. Either way, seemed like his nap would have to be postponed a bit after all.

Oh, dear, it has been a very long time since she last saw them and, already, they are taller than her! Of course, there's the factor that she (deliberately) let herself look young and child-like, but that's aside the point! Surely, Ancient Rome was doing a good job raising them at some point, though she wasn't expecting anything much from him anytime soon, where-ever he would be... probably pushing up the daisies, but whose to blame. Still, it was a bit melancholic to see how he and Veneziano look a lot like Ancient Rome. Ah, if only she could see that old guy once again and retrace back all the stories...
Tilting her head to the side, the blonde-haired Greek gave a curious look at the country not because she couldn't understand what he was talking about- believe her, she knows what he's yabbering about- and mentally telling herself that even the manners are the same as their grandfather. "You sure?" Athens spoke, hands behind her back and using the balls of her heels to rock herself back and forth like how most children would do. "I'm pretty sure it was all my fault." She mumbled out loud for him to hear, looking around a bit for any signs of stuff the taller male would be occupied with.
Of course, at the sight of him throwing the bottle haphazardly to the streets, the female automatically puffed her cheeks as she gave a wave to him, reprimanding him.
"Don't do that!" She wailed, frown gracing on her mouth as she flailed both her hands to him. "It's already hard enough cleaning the place up, you know!" Without second thoughts, the child-like capital skipped herself towards the spot where the bottle landed, picked the debris up and went to a nearby trash bin where she opened its lid and placed the trash inside before closing in and skipping herself back to the brunette. "Don't do that again," She scolded with both arms crossed; to any passerby, they would just think that a local child is reprimanding a random stranger about something that may (or may not, depending on whose looking) look cute, but for the embodiment of Athens, it's a serious business, cleanliness and all. "Really.... I really should start talking to Greece about putting up signs in every block about littering."
Her attention back at the brunette male, she blinked a few times, giving him a quizzical look before the cogs finally began working itself (again) and she gave a vigorous nod at his question.
"Yup!"
With that wide smile on her face coming back again, the blonde-haired female gave a small hop as she clapped her hands in delight that he finally figure something out about her. "Well... I AM Athens, you know!" Well, about time he figure something out, she was pretty sure that he might have been talking to her maybe because she just look like someone he met, but it would be nice once in a while to talk about Ancient Rome's grandchildren. She have to admit, though, she wasn't much there at that time since she was tending with both Ancient Greece and her son, so the female didn't count much if he does know her or otherwise. Then again, knowing their kind, it could be anything.
Ah, it could be troublesome at times, Anastasia just have to wonder out loud if they are getting paid for overtime. Not that she was serious on that statement, but she do like to keep up with modern society every once in a while to hide (somewhat) her true nature as one of the older capitals.
