CAUSE WITHOUT YOUR DEVOTION;; surely all that i dreamed of would fail ![ like a bird without wings that longs to be flying ] She knew from the moment that she raised her head off of her bed that today was going to be one of those days. What kind of days? The days where Teresa Hidalgo was insistent that she leave the comfortable giant pillow that was her kitty bed. Still, the black cat yawned and stretched, mewing lightly as she realized that her master was doing the very same thing, albeit with a slower temple. Once she quit glaring at her alarm clock, she smiled brightly.
“Hola, preciosa~” She beamed, leaning down to pet the spot that Mexicat seemed to love above all else. “We’ve got such a big meeting today.”
Pretty soon, Teresa exited her room in order to go and prepare her breakfast. With a wrinkle of her nose, Mexicat stood up from her bed and stretched her legs, shaking her head as she made eye-contact with the Chupacabra that was still sleeping. Man, she hated that thing…especially when it tried to eat her after not having eaten something in a while. With breakfast popping back into her mind, the cat exited the room with an almost conceited prance in her step as she headed for the kitchen, where she saw her master emptying a newly opened cat of tuna.
Letting out a loud meow, she dug in happily, not even bothering to thank Teresa because, well, her master knew how much she loved her. Otherwise, why would she let her pet her all of the time? Pretty soon, she managed to lick her dish clean of any remaining tuna, but Teresa still hadn’t come back downstairs to play with her. So, the black cat wandered over to the window to look outside, curling up into a small ball and looking outside. It certainly looked like a fun enough day to go out and play in the sun…even if she didn’t particularly want to ever do that. There were always weird cats out there that always made her mad; like the stupid Argentinean cat or the Brazilian she always seemed to get into fights with. (It wasn’t her fault that the two of them seemed determined all of the time to take her favorite black and white ball away from her!)
Still, it would be…wrong of her not to take advantage of the pretty day. So, hopping off the window and sliding through her kitty door, Mexicat looked around the neighborhood, wondering if she just couldn’t take a nap somewhere outside.
"Yes, a nap sounds nice~" She purred.

Before she could even reach the door, the di-chromatic cat jumped out of the window, with a dried fish on its mouth, and scurried towards the dumpster where a dissatisfied nation let out a few, indecent words before heading back inside her home. Seriously, she thought with a sigh as Philippines scratched her head, what in the world made her take care of a cat in the first place?
With a mischievous glint on her eyes, Philicat finally came out from the dumpster after the coast is clear, laying the winning spoils down on the ground and licking on her fur before she began gnawing on the fish, not caring if it was actually a week old or otherwise. Unlike other cats in the hood, Philicat seems quite flexible, if not a true-blue tomcat, and is known to eat almost anything she could find edible. Almost. Well, fish is just a stable food, but sometimes she could be seen within the trash bins of other people, searching for any leftover or rotten food she could find. Hey, it's every cat for themselves and, even if it distresses her owner, she's sure Philippines won't mind. Besides, she have that meeting to take care later, so Philicat will just have to make do with the trash and leftovers for lunch till she comes back.
What she doesn't know won't hurt her.
After her well-fed encounter, Philicat decided to prowl around the streets, looking for her fellow cat-brethren and see if they have something for her to do. It was quite unusual, being half the opposite to her owner, but she's not a picky sort of a cat to begin with. It wasn't until she saw a fellow cat and, from the looks of it, it was none other than Mexicat.
"Yo~" Philicat chirped with her usual, stray tomcat self. "How goes it? Isn't it a wonderful day to be a cat?" A decent conversation's something she could do without much of a problem, but knowing Mexicat...

CAUSE WITHOUT YOUR DEVOTION;; surely all that i dreamed of would fail ![ like a bird without wings that longs to be flying ] Teresa had named her Orgullo, although most people and cats tended to call her Pride – had found a nice spot in the grass. Her head lay on her paws and her tail swished up and down next to her, hitting the grounds in nice, thumps Normally, she wasn’t this lazy. As opposed to Teresa’s stupid dog – Jalapeño. Orgullo was, after all, the one that rounded up all the animals and made up the farm, where her master usually took them. It was also generally easy enough fork. The goats and the chickens listened to what she told them…but then there was the stupid Chupacabra messing with her hard work by putting the goats into frenzy. So, what did it matter that today was going to be a lazy day? She was already half-asleep when the feeling crept into her very being. That’s when she realized…that she had forgotten that it was going to be one of those days.
She smelt the stench of fish – not the good tuna kind that she had had, either; the kind that Teresa would have turned into some marvelous dish but hadn’t gotten the chance to because Jalapeño had gotten his slobber all over it. It wasn’t until after she smelled it that she realized just who had moved to interrupt her from her nap. She had to stop herself from snapping. “Hola,”
she replied, easily enough. She had been so busy praying that the Argentinean, Brazilian, or even…or even Americat would be off and leave her alone that she had forgotten about Philicat. Hero had always been to happy; too cheerful and full of himself for her to ever get along with him. She preferred to keep things to herself, especially her secrets and those of which belonged to her master. Sure, Orgullo didn’t really mind Philicat all that much. Their owners – and, she was somewhat hesitant to use that word for her fellow cat as everyone generally referred to her as a stray – got along enough to carry a civil conversation…there were only a couple of fights here and there that she would always blame on her. Philicat, at least, didn’t harass her like the rest of the cats tended to do, and so it was with that thought in mind that she opened both her eyes and raised her head slightly. “Todo es bueno,” she nodded her head, throwing her head back towards the house she had just left. “Teresa gave me tuna this morning…I see that you had fish too, no?” If the green eyed cat could raise an eyebrow, she was sure that she would do it in that moment. But, since she couldn’t, she just tilted her head to the side and let an easy look appear on her face. Civil; that’s all she had to remind herself to be, and that’s exactly what she would accomplish with this conversation. Besides, Orgullo needed more friends…especially to defend herself from attacks of “affection” she got every once in a while from France’s cat. And, well, Mexicat always tended to try to get Maple to come out and defend her against the cat, but everyone knew that, out of the two of them, she was the one that tended to be the vicious one. Though she was a stray, her owner (they just decided that she should become its owner since she takes care of it no matter how much Philippines tries to shoo it off) still feeds her and she comes by to the house to take a nap every once in a while, so they might call her as a pseudo-pet. Ah, well, Philippines grumbled once, better than her suicidal Tarsier, Bohol, not that she's complaining.
Another meow as Mexicat told her that she had fish as well. "Yep," Philicat said with her cat grin. "Boss..." Compared to most of the cats here and there, the feline calls her master as 'boss' considering how she doesn't really 'own' her to call her as master. Boss is fine, she thought with a swish of her tail. "... decided to cook some Fish Sinigang and since there's extra fish, I decided to take a nick on one. I'm sure she won't mind after she finishes cooking. " She stated, finishing off the fish before giving a wide stretch and a yawn. However, just as she was about to give another one, she felt someone grabbing her from the folds on behind her neck, a mild hiss was heard from her while being lifted up before the tomcat felt someone on her neck.
"Silly Muning!" The voice of her 'boss', Philippines, grumbled, looking at Mexicat for a bit before returning her attention to her own cat, pulling out a blue-red-and-white ribbon with three stars and swiftly tied it onto her neck before placing the hissing cat down. "That's your punishment for taking my fish! Now be nice and don't get yourself dirty or I won't give you food later tonight!" Another hiss from Muning the Philicat but when Gabriella finally pulled out another piece of fish and placed it down, the cat made a 160 degree turn and began purring in delight before feasting on another meal. "Right, off to conference I go." One last scratch behind the cat's ears before giving a verbal farewell to Mexico's cat and left, leaving the two alone.
"Me~ow!"
As soon as Philippines left, Philicat immediately scratched her front paws onto the ribbon on her neck, as if trying to remove it but no avail. "Hssss~ I can't believe she did that AGAIN! Oooh, I swear this ribbon will rue the day it got placed onto my neck!" She ranted a bit but not before enjoying her second meal for the day. "Me~ow! I love boss, she's so kind! But I don't like her ribbon!" Another scratch before resuming interacting her fellow cat and her food. "Gee, I wonder what the other cats are doing right now? Probably taking it easy inside their house. I could really use some playin' right now. Hmm... maybe I could see if there's some mice inside the dumpster?"

CAUSE WITHOUT YOUR DEVOTION;; surely all that i dreamed of would fail ![ like a bird without wings that longs to be flying ]For all that was described of her, Mexicat was…well, she was extremely prideful and concerned about her own wellbeing. Sure, she loved her friends and took care of them when she could, but she preferred to keep to herself. (She was much like her owner in that sense.) She got herself into a lot of fights only to have to go running (usually to Hero) to protect her, and, although she wouldn’t admit it, she also tended to run to Maple. It wasn’t that she couldn’t fight – because, she could. Teresa always made sure her nails were sharp on the off-occasion Orgullo got into a fight. (And, usually, they were with the same rivals that her master had, so the latter didn’t really ever mind. It wasn’t that the poor, little black cat disliked anything in particular; she just didn’t enjoy being outside with the other cats. She was…a hermit by nature; preferring to stay inside and sleep and nap. It wasn’t a bad life, she decided. Her days of wandering around the streets had long been over.
That’s why it was so hard for her to understand Philicat’s nature. Not too badly since she had, quite literally, been there and done that, preferring to steal stuff like enchiladas, tacos, and even some pastries Teresa had left out to cool. She could see where the temptation of taking the clearly more delicious food would be appealing, but, as she forcefully tried to convince herself, those days had been behind her. If she had an eyebrow, she’d be raising it at that particular moment. “Couldn’t you just…no se, ask her to feed you?” Orgullo asked, somewhat confused. “Jefe always wakes me up before feeding me.”
She smiled fondly, thinking of just that morning. She should have returned to Teresa’s bed and taken a nap there, where she wouldn’t have been bothered. Then again, she was always getting in trouble for not interacting much (which always made her frown, as some of the cats were downright awful.) Orgullo also found it extremely odd that Muning didn’t seem to appreciate the present that the Philippines had given her. In her opinion, the bow was really pretty. The only think she would change about it was the color scheme. (The cat loved the red and the white, but the blue looked awful. A nice, rich green color would suit everyone much better than that, and, instead of the stars, the Mexicat would have loved a picture an eagle stepping on a snake. That would show…pride. She yawned, slightly, her meow coming out a lot deeper than she had meant it to. With a blink, she stood up and moved until she was sitting next to her fellow feline, staring at her blankly as she devoured the fish without much of a second thought. As much as she could go for another helping – to which she had seriously considered grabbing the fish in a hurry and making a break for it; she thought she had a pretty good chance of getting away – she didn’t want to eat too much. In the event she did take a nap, that would seriously annoy her. “You’re weird.” She declared, not for the first time since the two of them had met. She brushed the back of her paw against her cheek before gesturing towards the beads around her neck. “Un regalo,” she beamed, very pleased with it. “I like it. It’s pretty and it reminds people that my Jefe owns me and not some weirdo. Imagine if we had that French guy for an owner.” She shuddered slightly, her ears flattening against her head. “I love mi Jefe. She gives me food, we watch soccer together, we both get cold easily.” Orgullo beamed. “We both get along really well!” She gestured towards her beads again. “I love these. They let everyone know mi Jefe is cool.” And, she let her tail swished back and forth. “I’m not sure. They’re probably playing around. I thought I heard Hero earlier.” "speaking "'thinking'[/blockquote][/blockquote] tagged;; open words;; 670 outfit;; N/A template;; PANIC! While attempting to remove the ribbon off of her neck (with no avail), Philicat gave a mild hiss at the offending accessory on her neck. It wasn't that it was pretty and she like it, it's just so uncomfortable and so unnecessary that it's so not like her. A stray, no matter how much she is tamed, will always be a stray and the independent streak really suits her more than just a normal house-cat sitting around and being pampered... like Austricat, for one. Not that she's dissing him, but she do like her liberty thank you very much.
"Nah, I don't think so." She said blatantly, giving up on removing the ribbon on her neck and just resumed eating like nothing happened; Anyway, in the end, Philippines will remove it when she notices how Philicat is wheezing like mad or when she dirties it with her usual running-playing-and-scratching around 'n about. "Anyway, boss will always feed me even if I take something from her. I just make sure not to scratch her bed and we're cool." A meow of affirmation was heard from the black-and-white cat to emphasize her point.
"I am?"
It was no surprise coming from the pseudo-stray cat. Perking her ears, Philicat twitched her nose (but not in annoyance) as another meow escaped from her mouth. "Oh, but I like the French person's food," Another meow as she decided to stretch her legs and prowl around the premises (but not away from Mexicat), taking sight at a random mouse as the cat decided to play with it for a while, tossing it here and there with her paws and pouncing on it playfully as if it's just some toy. "I nick something from time to time and he feeds me... well, he do tends to feed me leftovers, but who's complaining." And not to mention stealing some of his food, Muning thought with a snicker, recalling how she have encounter the French person's pet cat and nearly scratched him for being a 'bit too frisky' to her. Well, being a stray, she have no standards when it comes to male cats, but she do want to prove that she's a dominant kind who don't take a beating from a random, pampered cat. "You're so lucky, I tend to annoy boss because it's fun." True, and the pillow in the attic that used to be in the bedroom is the testament of it. "But she's always considerate of me when it rains or when New Year comes... or when other stray cats decide to take a bite of me." Another playful pounce on the poor rat. "She let me stay inside and hide under the sofa before the fireworks comes off and she gives me milk. She even gave me a present last Christmas and a good share of ham. I just love the ham, even if it's too sweet."
Immediately, she perked up at the mention of the other cats, deliberately releasing her little prisoner as it rushes once more to the dumpster to hide from the semi-wild cat, tail swishing and flicking in interest as the di-chromatic cat twitched her ears in excitement.
"Really?" Philicat looked left and right, twitching her ears as to pick up a faint sound of other cats asides them, a low growl escaping her throat. "They better come out... I don't want to hunt them down, you know!" Complete and utter lie; she like hunting down her fellow cats just the same, like how she enjoy prowling inside her owner boss' home to look for that pesky thing she always use whenever she is hiding under the couch and being a difficult cat (which is actually just a catnip in a stick).

She walked until she had gotten away from her house but still knowing where she was at since she did a lot of exploring. Romkitty had almost gotten into a fight with a stray cat over a fish that she had gotten but gave it up in the end. After walking for a little bit more she found a spot and curled up and went to sleep for a bit.She was still aware of everything around her she slept longer then what she meant and got up and started walking again.
Hearing other cats she walked over to where she them but hid instead of showing herself. Romkitty jumped slightly when she heard someone say “They better come out... I don't want to hunt them down, you know!” Romkitty came out from where she was hiding and walked over to them “I would’ve came out sooner or later”, she mumbled.Stopping a few feet from them she sat down and waited.
