I actually found this on another site and wanted to give it a try. It can help you figure out things about your characters!
Basics first:
• Who is your character?
• Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it?
• What about scars? How did he get them?
• Who are your character’s friends and family? Who does he surround himself with?
• Who are the people your character is closest to?
• Who does he wish he were closest to?
• Where was your character born? Where has he lived since then? Where does he call home?
• Where does your character go when he’s angry?
• What is his biggest fear? Who has he told this to? Who would he never tell this to? Why?
• What makes your character laugh out loud?
• When has your character been in love?
• Had a broken heart?
Some unconventional questions:
• What is in your character’s refrigerator right now?
• On her bedroom floor?
• On her nightstand?
• In her garbage can?
• Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Does he wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Is he in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or is he wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by his grandmother?
• When your character thinks of her childhood kitchen, what smell does she associate with it? Why is that smell so resonant for her?
• Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for her to throw out? What is difficult for her to part with? Why?
• It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing?
• What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting?
• Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is she going? What does she wear? Who will she be with?
An inverview with your character:
• What do you consider your greatest achievement?
• What is your idea of perfect happiness?
• What is your current state of mind?
• What is your favorite occupation?

Post by Alfred "America" F. Jones on Dec 4, 2012 0:05:28 GMT -5
• Who is your character?
Alfred F. Jones
• Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it?
While it's not 100% a birthmark, it has been present since birth. Alfred has a stray tuft of hair at the top of his head that always sticks up, no matter how much he or anyone else tries to get it to stay down. The hair? Nantucket. =P
• What about scars? How did he get them?
-Takes a deep breath- I'm just gonna list them...
Burn scar over his heart - Burning of Washington, War of 1812 (though the actually burning was in 1814...figure that one out XD) Large, jagged gash scar that spans his entire midsection - Civil War Gash scar on the top of his foot - Pearl Harbor Gash scar on his neck - Flight 93 crashing in Pennsylvania Two identical gash scars side by side near his ribs - World Trade Center attacks Gash scar slightly above his navel - The Pentagon
He also has various other, small scars from the Revolution and the Civil War.
• Who are your character’s friends and family? Who does he surround himself with?
The only 'true' family he still has is his brother, Matthew, aka Canada. He may tease his brother a lot, but Alfred considers Matthew to be one of his best friends. Prior to the American Revolution, Alfred considered his father figure/older brother to be Arthur Kirkland, aka England, and still has a lingering affection for him (as a brother...sorry USUK shippers >.< ), even if he doesn't show it much.
The man that Alfred considers to be his father above all else is George Washington, and by proxy, he considers Martha Washington to be his mother. This is why, whenever asked about his (so far as he knows nonexistent) parents, he will name them George and Martha.
Friends? Um...I'm not even going to get into that. It's too complicated. XD
• Who does he wish he were closest to?
Well, he wouldn't turn down the idea of bringing George and Martha Washington back from the grave and catching up with them.
Admittedly, he'd like to improve relations with Arthur as well, but that would mean actually sitting down with him and having a nice long talk about the Revolution, which would take forever and a day because they're both stubborn as hell.
• Where was your character born? Where has he lived since then? Where does he call home?
Funny thing...Alfred doesn't know where he was born, just that it was on the North American continent somewhere on the East Coast, most likely around Roanoke in present day North Carolina. As for where he's lived since then? All over the freakin' place. Every single one of the 50 states. He's particularly drawn to certain areas though, like Boston, Washington D.C., New York, LA...big cities, in other words. Though he doesn't mind getting away from it all occasionally either.
• Where does your character go when he’s angry?
His happy place. Really, though? The rare times he can't push his anger down with smiles, he wants to be left alone with his thoughts. If he isn't left alone when he's truly angry, he tends to explode. So...as far away from people as he can get.
• What is his biggest fear? Who has he told this to? Who would he never tell this to? Why?
It's changed throughout time. But if he had to choose his biggest fear now? The sheer destructive power contained in one nuclear warhead. It is both fascinating and utterly terrifying. He has not told ANYONE this, but the closest one to probably figure it out is Kiku/Japan, and if you don't know why...seriously, did you learn ANYTHING about World War II?
As for someone he'd probably never tell this to? Ivan, for again, obvious reasons.
• What makes your character laugh out loud?
England's eyebrows. >.> <.<
• When has your character been in love?
It would depend on how you define love. He's been in a good number of relationships, with varying amounts of actual feeling in them. Some of them were more sexual in nature, while others did or do have some pretty intense feelings involved.
• Had a broken heart?
Once, with Sarah. And, though he won't admit it, Linh.
Some unconventional questions:
• What is in your character’s refrigerator right now?
Ground beef (a must have), mustard, ketchup, a carton of eggs, a gallon of milk, a package of American cheese, a jar of pickles, bacon, several TV dinners, ice cream, microwave pizza, taquitos, maple syrup (for when Mattie comes over), beer, an assortment of different sorts of pop
• On his bedroom floor?
Clothes, random papers of varying importance (note - Given what he is, some of these papers are of TOP SECRET importance...and yes, he's the type that would just leave them lying around), a Captain America plushie, various fast food wrappers
• On his nightstand?
A lamp, and his glasses/Texas while he sleeps. He doesn't keep much else there.
• In his garbage can?
More fast food wrappers
• Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Does he wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Is he in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or is he wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by his grandmother?
On a usual day? Gym shoes. His socks are worn, but not to the point where they have holes in them.
• When your character thinks of his childhood kitchen, what smell does he associate with it? Why is that smell so resonant for him?
The smell of charred bread. Why? Because England cooked for him and that was the USUAL smell.
• Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for him to throw out? What is difficult for him to part with? Why?
Oh hey, something addressed in the series! Stuff that's easy for him to part with? I actually see it as hard for him to part with a LOT of old things of his. I see him being highly nostalgic when no one's looking. That said, old worn clothes and crap like that would be thrown out right away. Outdated electronics that have been replaced by new models (mainly because he'd have no room in his house otherwise).
Difficult for him to part with? Like I said, the older it is, the more likely he'll find it difficult to part with. As seen in the series, he has bittersweet memories associated with anything from his days with England. The toy soldiers, the suit, the musket...yes, he still has those. He also has a plethora of old movies, and a picture of him with every single president since photography was invented. Most of them have never been seen by the public eye.
• It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing?
Saturday at noon? He's likely just getting up, unless there was an early meeting or something he needed to be up early for.
• What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting?
There are two that spring to mind. One is from the series - The scene where England/Arthur presents him with a chest of toy soldiers. The other is one night when he thought he heard noises under his bed and even though Arthur looked annoyed, he went with Alfred to check under the little colony's bed to make sure that there was nothing underneath there. I think it's pretty obvious why both of these are lasting memories, especially when you take into consideration that Arthur had a lot of business to take care and wasn't around for Alfred like a normal parent.
• Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is he going? What does he wear? Who will he be with?
It largely depends on where he's at! But he tends to go for high adventure and high excitement, so likely a big city, or somewhere where he can do something that brings on an adrenaline rush, like skydiving. He'd wear whatever's comfortable (likely jeans, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes), and he'd be with people close to him. Likely other nations or his states, as he tends to be closest to them, but he has a few human friends as well, and has even been known to drag presidents out on adventures (usually with them in disguise though).
An inverview with your character:
• What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Getting my independence. Seriously. You know how powerful Arthur was at the time? I FOUGHT against that and won. And he finally recognized me as an equal at last.
• What is your idea of perfect happiness?
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say world peace. I know it ain't gonna happen, but really, that'd get rid of a lot of worries, wouldn't it?
• What is your current state of mind?
I'm doing pretty good!
• What is your favorite occupation?
Superhero! ...what do you mean that's not a real occupation? What the hell? Well, if I can't pick superhero, I'm gonna pick some other heroes. How about firefighters. MUCH respect to them after 9/11. Good job, bros.
[Note - I'm slightly biased here...my dad's a fireman XD]
• What is your most treasured possession?
Gah, most treasured possession? I have so many! I'd say that book of pictures though. It's got a picture of me with every president since pictures have been around. Which reminds me, I still gotta one for the Obamarama...
• What is your favorite journey?
Going down to Antarctica would have been awesome if it weren't for nearly freezing my balls off. My flag might be on the moon, but I've never been there myself...or in space for that matter. I need to fix that!
Crap...ya know, this is a really hard question for a nation to answer...I've been all over the place.
• What is your most marked characteristic?
I hear a LOT of people saying that I'm loud and never shut up. I don't see what their problem is! I mean, I just have a lot to say! What's wrong with that?
• When and where were you the happiest?
...if I have to be really honest? Some of my earliest days as a nation were the best ones. All the founding fathers still around, before things started getting too crazy. After the Articles of Confederation fiasco though. DEFINITELY after that.
• What is it that you most dislike?
Commies and terrorists
• What is your greatest fear?
...why would you think the hero would fear anything? Being forgotten and MAD
• Which living person do you most despise?
That's damn hard. Uh...who's Iran's boss? Or North Korea's?
• What is your greatest regret?
...
[Note - The answer is the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He would never actually come out and SAY that, though, except under very specific circumstances.]
• Where would you like to live?
D.C. and New York are probably two of my favorite places. But seriously, I love all of my 50 states!
• On what occasions do you lie?
When I need to. No, that's a lie too. I lie a lot more often than people think. Usually as some form of protection, either for myself or the other person.
• Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
I say 'dude' a lot. I know it kinda makes me sound like one of those surfer...uh, dudes, but it just slips out! Ask some of my citizens, they do it too!
• What are your favorite names?
George, Martha, Franklin, Marilyn, Thomas, John, Abraham, Abigail, Amelia, Samuel, Benjamin

Post by ANASTASIA "ATHENS" DIMITRIADIS on Dec 4, 2012 1:37:51 GMT -5
• Who is your character? Anastasia Dimitriadis... Athens, if you want to know her as a 'Nation/Capital'
• Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it? Pretty sure she have a mole somewhere in her right chest somewhere...
• What about scars? How did he get them? A gash in the back near her shoulder blades from the Ottoman Empire, Some few on her arms thanks from years of fighting and defending Ancient Greece (hence she wears long sleeves), A large one on her abdomen after she was stabbed (and somewhat betrayed) by Sparta, and probably not seen but she was certain she has a small one in her head when she lost her first hat (the destruction of the first Parthenon). Others, she'll tell indefinite.
• Who are your character’s friends and family? Who does he surround himself with? Ancient Greece is pretty much her closest friend, confidant, wing(wo)man, and pretty much the closest she could get as a friend/relative. Second is her son, Greece. And then that bastard traitor her 'brother', Sparda, who is gone now along with Ancient Greece. Probably Ancient Rome, Ancient Egypt... she got a LOT of friends back in the olden days, though as of present, she wasn't sure anymore on who's who she's associated with. And pretty much anyone who can stand her, like the Mediterranean nations/capitals/states/cities, some of the European and American here and there, and probably a few of Asians.
As for humans? Most Philosophers like Aristotle, Plato and Socrates (she fancy Plato the most) and probably Alexander the Great.
• Who are the people your character is closest to? Greece, for one. And then most of the Mediterranean, as specified before. And, probably the 'Ancient' from once upon a time she was still under Ancient Greece. She also fancies Plato the most out of most Philosophers since she tends to go to him when she want to hear some of his philosophies.
• Who does he wish he were closest to? Greece. And Ancient Greece. Self-explanatory.
And probably to where her first Parthenon is, but she's still looking on where is it.
• Where was your character born? Where has he lived since then? Where does he call home? Pretty sure somewhere in Greece near the border leading to what is now Macedonia. Currently living in Athens, roaming around or probably to where Greece is. She is mostly seen in the central square of the city of Athens, if not where Parthenon stands.
• Where does your character go when he’s angry? Usually hiding at Parthenon or going to where Sparta and Thebes used to stand, because though they are rivals, the fact that she is one of the few remaining alive pretty much pegs her that she misses them. Somewhat. Not really, but it releases her of her stress to see that she's standing and they are not.
If she IS angry in her Ancient Athens method, however, she'll be somewhere nobody would find her. You gotta have to ask her nicely for that.
• What is his biggest fear? Who has he told this to? Who would he never tell this to? Why? That she would have failed her promise to Ancient Greece to protect her son at times of trouble. She really LOVES both her old master and her son so much that anything bad happening to them would bring fear to her. Apparently, it's a common knowledge (but she is not aware about it) to anyone that she LOVES dotes Greece too much. Also that her cover as 'Ancient Athens's child' is blown and for them to know that she is the real Athens- then and now- and do something about it. She kept this image for a reason.
• What makes your character laugh out loud? Everyone mistaking her as a child, everyone mistaking her as a daughter of the Ancient/Hellenistic Athens, The fact that she won and her rivals lost and died somewhere, some of the memories where Sparta stabbed her, frogs, cats, Greece (sometimes), pretty much anything that makes her happy. She's somewhat a shallow capital when it comes to happiness, apparently.
• When has your character been in love? She used to have a crush on Ancient Rome, before realizing he's after Ancient Greece. And maybe some men here and there back in the old days. She was a bit of a flirt once upon a time.
But she do have a real love; Greece.
• Had a broken heart? Not sure, she lost count somewhere after the 20th male in the old days.
Some unconventional questions:
• What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? Cakes, some wine, cheeses, goat meat, fruits, eggs, milk, leftover lamb chops, and probably some other Greek food on the side.
• On her bedroom floor? Papers, her slippers, Parthenon the hat, her pj's, a frog stuff toy, her journal (for shame! Leaving a journal on the floor like that!) and pictures/drawings of what remains of her memories from the past till the present. And probably some old, broken pottery in the corner along with her not-so rusty shield and sword.
• On her nightstand? Clock, another flog plushie, picture of her and Greece, a scribbled note that reminds her of her promise a long time ago, pencil and paper, and a miniature pot she have made. And a miniature Parthenon (the structure, not the hat) that a native gave to her after she helped him with the reconstruction of Parthenon.
• In her garbage can? She does not want to know, but pretty much peeled fruits, mutton bones, some leftover food not to be eaten, and some stray cats prowling outside the garbage can.
• Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Does he wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Is he in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or is he wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by his grandmother? Sandals. She is wearing sandals as of this moment, the one that looks like the sandals Ancient Greeks wear but with a modern flair, and a knee-high socks.
• When your character thinks of her childhood kitchen, what smell does she associate with it? Why is that smell so resonant for her? Foods Ancient Greece used to make. Usually bread, meat and wine.
• Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for her to throw out? What is difficult for her to part with? Why? Old pottery that she used to make whenever she's stressed or out of sheer boredom, those are easy to throw out. Probably worn out shields and other weaponry, she might want to throw them out, some random stones here and there, also needs to throw out, and maybe that bloodied cloth that is actually her attire that has blood because it's what she wore when Sparta stabbed her, overdue throwing.
What she can't throw? Old pictures and drawings, notes and written stuff Plato gave to her to ponder and study upon, Hippocrates' notes that he asked her if she could look it up, some old books and the remains of Old Parthenon (her hat).
• It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing? Most likely sleeping outside or running around in the square, chasing pigeons.
• What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting? Ancient Greece's death; she was present when the Ottoman Empire killed her and Athens couldn't do anything about it. Up to this day, she still feel the pang of pain of hearing his laugh, Ancient Greece's raspy breath as the two of them made a promise and... lots of stuff happening that a mere recollection of it will pretty much leave her quiet and 'mature' for the rest of the day.
• Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is she going? What does she wear? Who will she be with? A plain dress reminisce those of Ancient Greeks wear but with modern flair. Only when she's going out to something fancy, otherwise she'll be sleeping in the couch till Greece brings her to her bed.
An inverview with your character:
• What do you consider your greatest achievement? Simple! Defeating my rivals back in the old times! Especially Sparta. He really needs to go! We're pretty good in terms of military terms, you know!
• What is your idea of perfect happiness? Being with the ones you love! I learn that the hard way, you know!
• What is your current state of mind? Uhm...... Froggy?
• What is your favorite occupation? Giving a grand tour to visitors to Athens and giving small history lectures about it. It's loads of fun plus people asking questions about my home makes me happy inside! *grins*
• What is your most treasured possession? The first sword Ancient Greece gave to me. I need to find a way to haul it out of the attic and clean so I can use it for some practice swinging once in a while. I'm getting rusty.
• What is your favorite journey? I don't know... I do like my journeys whenever a war strike since we have a good advantage point. But I guess I don't remember.... give me a bit... er...uhm...
• What is your most marked characteristic? That I'm childish and lovable? But some do say that I tend to be 'a bit too mature for my age' from time to time, dunno what they're talking about. I think I freak them out a bit by it. *blinks*
• When and where were you the happiest? When I'm with Greece! And when there are frogs and cats! And anytime, but I do miss the old times I have with Ancient Greece. *slow nod*
• What is it that you most dislike? When they're talking about the European Union and the economy and how we're affected by it. Buuu, I have to do most of the stuff here!
• What is your greatest fear? Uguuu~ don't remind me! *wails*
• Which living person do you most despise? Mehmet II the Conqueror. Things would have gotten better if he didn't came. *pause and looks at her creator* Oh? He's dead? I didn't... oh, right, my bad my bad! Er... I'll get back on you at that.
• What is your greatest regret? Not able to save Ancient Greece.
• Which talent would you most like to have? I have you know, I'm a very knowledgeable capital! I can pretty much be philosophical when I wanted to! I just don't feel like it today! *proudly*
I can also make pots and I can use a sword to fight, but that's just minor things!
• Where would you like to live?
Under Greece's porch because I love him!
Ah.... anywhere within the Athens?
• On what occasions do you lie? ....
(She refrains from answering it because her state of herself on itself is a first-hand lie that she is actually older and more mature than what she appears to be)
• Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Uh...... Pass?
• What are your favorite names? Plato's a fun name... not because I like Plato from most Philosophers, but it's fun! And Socrates. And probably my name, Anastasia, as well. And... uhm.... Athena. Yeah, I like Athena too! And Hera, Minerva, Socrates and- *goes on and on and on*

Post by Danii C. Washington (D.C) on Dec 4, 2012 12:11:16 GMT -5
• Who is your character? Danii C. Washington! Washington DC, get it?
• Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it? No birthmarks that she knows of
• What about scars? How did he get them? - - Old burns on her back from the burning of Washington - - A long faded one going up her left side from the Civil War - - Four small scars just to the inside of her right breast, one for each day of rioting during the July 1919 Red Summer - - A few small scars on her hip from the riots after Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination - - A scar on the inside of her palm from the attack on the Pentagon
• Who are your character’s friends and family? Who does he surround himself with? She doesn't have any real family, but she considers all the states to be the closest thing. All of them 8| So she tends to hang out with them mostly, whether they want to or not, and other Capitals namely any WWII allies.
• Who are the people your character is closest to? Again, the States of the Union 83 also whoever Mr. President happens to be along with his family because she tends to spend a lot of time at the White House.
• Who does he wish he were closest to? She wishes she was closer to more Civil Rights leaders. Abe Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr were some of her favorite people, and she wishes they didn't have to go and die.
• Where was your character born? Where has he lived since then? Where does he call home? Danii doesn't really remember being born, she kind of woke up in the woods just outside the colony of Virgina one day, and terrorized them ever since. She's traveled a lot, did a good bit of couch surfing with the states, but home has always been her district
• Where does your character go when he’s angry? The woods. Danii has a habit of running off and going camping when she gets really angry at something or someone.
• What is his biggest fear? Who has he told this to? Who would he never tell this to? Why? Her biggest fear is loosing status as a capital, she's never told anyone this and really doesn't plan on it because she feel people would just laugh at her if she did.
• What makes your character laugh out loud? MAD comics
• When has your character been in love? Well she's spent something over a century in love with her Country, but he hasn't seemed to notice. At all. Ever. Or he pretends not to and just keeps going out with like everyone else, Danii isn't even sure anymore.
• Had a broken heart? For something over a century cause......see above. Poor girl. To the point that she's given up.
Some unconventional questions:
• What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? Prepped DC burgers, milk, Coke, cherry jello, eggs, bacon, green peppers, potato salad, half a cheesecake Johnny gave her, onions, a few different types of cheese, and biscuit rolls.
• On her bedroom floor? Scattered paperwork that probably shouldn't be scattered like that, some clothing, a rifle propped up against something and her baseball bat.
• On her nightstand? A deadpool plushie propped against a lamp, a nook, her cellphone, keys, the remote to her tv
• In her garbage can? Wrappers for candy bars and ice cream, newspapers, old food that didn't get eaten.
• Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Does he wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Is he in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or is he wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by his grandmother?
Her socks rarely match and they haven't been pristine white since the day she bought them, she usually wears these badly beaten star spangled converse that definitely need to be replaced, or cowboy boots.
• When your character thinks of her childhood kitchen, what smell does she associate with it? Why is that smell so resonant for her? Pies, Virgina used to bake her pies when she was little.
• Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for her to throw out? What is difficult for her to part with? Why? Wrappers for stuff, old boxes, cloths that shes worn out tend to go pretty quickly. Newspaper clippings and things that tend to bring back strong memories she tends to put back, because she's afraid if she threw it out, she'd forget.
• It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing? Making lunch and probably calling someone to make plans for that night.
• What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting? The first time she met Wahunsunacawh and the Powhatan, Danii had hid behind a tree out of fear, she had heard colonists talk about what the Natives had done to settlers. Instead of sending her down river, one of the women with the Chief gave her an ear of corn, and Danii decided that just because someone looked different, didn't mean they were so bad.
• Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is she going? What does she wear? Who will she be with? Probably out to a local bar, she's wearing a white button down that shows the American flag print bra she's wearing no doubt, a pair of worn and comfortable daisy dukes and her equally worn converse. She might just be hanging out with a crowd when she gets there, or one of the States or subsequent cities.
An interview with your character:
• What do you consider your greatest achievement? Punching Arthur in the face after the War of 1812. No but really? Being made my own district and being named capital of the greatest nation on the planet!
• What is your idea of perfect happiness? -mumbles- to find out Al feels the same way I do? >>
• What is your current state of mind? I'm fine! Wondering why I'm still doing this and not making lunch instead, but fine!
• What is your favorite occupation? Air force pilot! Or any military occupation really, those guys put their lives on the line for everything America stands for 8')
• What is your most treasured possession? My last name actually. I asked Old George if I could use it, the day they were surveying places for the district and he said yes, so no one can take that away from me!
• What is your favorite journey? The band. Ok I'm joking, I really like the spur of the moment cross country road trips actually, those are always my favorite.
• What is your most marked characteristic? I like hugging people 83 I don't think anyone else minds, so I just keep on hugging them!
• When and where were you the happiest? Standing outside of the Washington Monument listening to King's "I Have A Dream" speech, I don't think I've felt as patriotic as I did then for a while up until that point. The Founding Fathers always talked about equality, and here was the one man standing in front of millions fighting for it despite so many people trying to keep him down.
• What is it that you most dislike? Terrorists 8|
• What is your greatest fear? I don't wanna talk about that -frowns-
• Which living person do you most despise? Anne Coulter. GO. AWAY.
• What is your greatest regret? Not just locking Al in the basement when he started in on all that Vietnam stuff, watching the people tear into each other and themselves cause of that whole thing was too hard to watch >>
• Which talent would you most like to have? Um........wouldn't mind being extra persuasive, whatever that's called, it'd help during debates.
• Where would you like to live? I already like where I live! Nothing wrong with my awesome house 8)

Post by Ewan "Scotland" McLelland on Dec 4, 2012 16:59:31 GMT -5
• Who is your character? Ewan McLelland
• Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it? Not persay, but he is of a very rare shade of an already very rare hair color.
• What about scars? How did he get them? Oh, God, it would take me forever to list them all. Just know that they're there, and en mass.
• Who are your character’s friends and family? Who does he surround himself with? Ewan's family is compromised of the British Isles. Meaning England, Wales, both Irelands, and Sealand sorta kinda, it's really iffy are his younger siblings. America and Canada are, in a weird way, his nephews. He had his own son in the 1700's, but he died very young, and Ewan still hasn't gotten over it.
• Who are the people your character is closest to? Strange as it seems, what with the way they all fight, Ewan's very close to his siblings. He's also very close to France, and to a lesser extent, Spain. He was also very, very fond of Mary, Queen of Scots.
• Who does he wish he were closest to? Though he'll never, ever, ever admit it, he wishes he and his siblings could go back to the way they were when they were children.
• Where was your character born? Where has he lived since then? Where does he call home? What kind of question is that? He was born in Scotland, of course. Don't ask where, it's been over 2000 years. There could be a mall there now, for all he knows.
• Where does your character go when he’s angry? The bar. No, really.
• What is his biggest fear? Who has he told this to? Who would he never tell this to? Why? Being alone again. Ironically, the only person who knows just how much that would crush him is the one person he'd never tell; i.e. England.
• What makes your character laugh out loud? Give him enough liquor, and just about anything'll make him laugh!
• When has your character been in love? He was very, very much in love with France when they were young, though that relationship fell apart over the centuries. He also dearly loved Mary.
• Had a broken heart? With France. And when Mary died. And again when his son died, which has still left him crushed to this day.
Some unconventional questions:
• What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? Three six packs of ale, a tupperwale bowl full of haggis, some half-eaten spam, half a gallon of milk, exactly three eggs, a small tub of marmite, a loaf of bread, and a bowl filled with some hideous looking abomination made from mashed potatoes, mustard, mayonaise, sardines, pig ears and tails, strawberry licorice, chocolate sauce, and garlic sauce.
• On his bedroom floor? A few empty bottles, some dirty laundry, his boots and loafers, and Bri's panties.
• On his nightstand? A lamp, an old fashioned alarm clock, and typically a bottle or two of scotch.
• In his garbage can? Beer cans. Beer cans as far as the eye can see.
• Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Does he wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Is he in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or is he wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by his grandmother?
Depends on what he's wearing, but usually boots or loafers. And his socks are fine, thank you. He's a drunk, not a hobo.
• When your character thinks of his childhood kitchen, what smell does he associate with it? Why is that smell so resonant for him? Kitchen? His childhood was spent in Great Britain during the B.C.'s/early A.D.'s. What kitchen?
• Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for him to throw out? What is difficult for him to part with? Why? There are a few trinkets and momentos here and there. One of the things he holds closest, however, are a very old stack of letters written to him by Mary when she was living in France. His dearest treasure, however, is a hand woven celtic knot he'd given to his son for good luck.
• It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing? Drinking beer and trying to get/getting laid.
• What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting? The moment he first held Ireland. For the first time, he had a family.
• Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is he going? What does he wear? Who will he be with? The tavern, naturally. He'll probably wear some casual dress clothes, and if he's not drinking alone, he'll probably be with one of the Irelands or Glasgow. Or Bri.
An inverview with your character:
• What do you consider your greatest achievement? "Ah kept th' Roman Empire out of me land. Beat tha'."
• What is your idea of perfect happiness? "A pint in one hand an' a titty in the other. ...Whut? You asked."
• What is your current state of mind? "Could go fer a pint."
• What is your favorite occupation? "Feck, Ah dinnae. Is breakin' virgins a profession?"
• What is your most treasured possession? "Just some old trinkets from the old days. It'd probably bore ye."
• What is your favorite journey? "Ah dinnae exactly get out much. Maybe the journey from me door to the pub, aye?"
• What is your most marked characteristic? "Di' ye naught notice me hair? Or were ye too distracted by me collossal pecker?"
• When and where were you the happiest? "Like I said, lad, I'm pretty old. I'll just bore ye..."
• What is it that you most dislike? "The bloody English."
• What is your greatest fear? "Fear? Me? Ha! Ah'm Scotland, ya twit!"
• Which living person do you most despise? "Margaret Mother Fuckin' Thatcher."
• What is your greatest regret? "....Ah dinnae want t'talk about et."
• Which talent would you most like to have? "Ah'd love to refill me tankard just by snappin' me fingers."
• Where would you like to live? "Ah'm happy roit where Ah am."
• On what occasions do you lie? "Ah dinnae need t'lie. If y' dinnae loik whut Ah got ta sae, ye can get th' fuck out."
• Which words or phrases do you most overuse? "Whut are ye talkin' about. Tha's a stupid fuckin' question. Ah dinnae overuse anythin', y'ken?"
• What are your favorite names? "Th' old names. Angus, Barclay, Hamish, them sorts."

Post by GABRIELLA "PHILIPPINES" SANTOS on Dec 4, 2012 20:11:06 GMT -5
• Who is your character?
Ma. Gabriella Santos. Mostly refer to as Gabriella Santos (the Ma. part left out)
• Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it?
None that I could think of.
• What about scars? How did he get them?
A lot of prominent ones and a lot of less-than ones, but the most known few are the following: A large scar on her abdomen from the Philippine Revolution against Spain A scar from a gunshot in her left-most lower abdomen from the Philippine-American war A small burn somewhere in her shoulder from the Ozone Disco Club fire in 1996 and the 2007 Glorietta explosion Another small, but recurring, scar located on her chest from the Ampatuan Massacre And is a scarred ego from both Spain, America and Japan also included as well?
• Who are your character’s friends and family? Who does he surround himself with?
Spain is probably the closest she could get as a relative in a family sense since he took her in. She's part of the ASEAN family, though, and then there's the trio; Luzon(Lucy), Vizayas(Vikky) and Mindanao(Mindy). And maybe some of the nations colonized by Spain once upon a time; Mexico, one of those. As for friends, pretty much too many to list but she's sure she's planning to gain more not just for political and economical advantage because she's a friendly nation overall.
Oh, and the people and nations in the bar; she likes her drinking buddies just fine.
• Who are the people your character is closest to?
Mexico (despite the fact that the two would usually trade some banter, but that's just how they show they care for each other), America, Japan, she's getting warmer to Spain again it seems, and she probably is closest to Jose Rizal (He was the reason she opened her eyes to freedom), Andres Bonifacio (she fought alongside him one time), Beningo Aquino Jr. (He should really do something about his son about running the country properly, she said one time) and currently spending some time with Jejomar Binay whenever she goes around the Makati Area and meets him there in terms of human she is closest to.
And maybe some drunkards somewhere in a rural barrio when she feels like drinking, but she won't tell who and where.
• Who does he wish he were closest to?
If China wasn't a dick, she would have gone better with him like the old times. And Spain, but what he did made her reconsider her thoughts.
• Where was your character born? Where has he lived since then? Where does he call home?
She's not sure, Spain said that she was found while Magellan was exploring to look for the Spice Island when he saw Philippines (unnamed at that time) already running around past her nappies. Maybe in a land somewhere?
• Where does your character go when he’s angry?
In a bar. Or in a random food stall. Either or.
• What is his biggest fear? Who has he told this to? Who would he never tell this to? Why?
Quite unusual, but she has a fear of being in so much dept and trouble that she'll have to rely once more to a country to be colonized or be re-colonized to either America or China. She told it to America but she never told about the recolonization part to him because, deep down, she just want to prove that she have what it takes to take her claim as an independent nation.
• What makes your character laugh out loud?
Anything funny, really. She's not really that hard to laugh.
• When has your character been in love?
.... She can't recall. Surprisingly.
• Had a broken heart?
Also can't recall.
Some unconventional questions:
• What is in your character’s refrigerator right now?
Eggs, containers of water, carton of milk, containers of leftover food (leftover lechon, leftover dinuguan, leftover liempo, leftover Adobo, leftover Longganisa to name a few), fruits and vegetables, frozen fish, frozen meat, frozen chicken, cheese, butter, peanut butter, and more leftovers.
And that's just the ones she can see; who knows what else she has behind the food.
• On her bedroom floor?
Clothes, papers, magazines, some books here and there and... pretty much that's it. It was haphazardly placed but otherwise it was easy to clean just shove it under her bed and it's done. Oh, and her broom in the corner of her room.
• On her nightstand?
Lamp, alarm clock (almost-useless since she constantly hit the snooze button every chance she gets), notepad and pen just in case she needs to take notes whenever she has a call, her phone and a bowl filled with candies. Don't ask.
• In her garbage can?
Lots of leftovers that are past their date (and somehow grown their very own community of bacteria), trashes, trashes and more trashes. And cat poop because a stray cat likes to poop since her home from time to time (that evil cat!)
• Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Does he wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Is he in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or is he wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by his grandmother?
Right now, she is only wearing flip-flops (slippers) but she is mostly seen wearing flats or flat-heeled shoes and tends to wear black stockings if not black socks. Both her footwear are bought in Marikina since they can make a veyr durable footwear in cheap price.
• When your character thinks of her childhood kitchen, what smell does she associate with it? Why is that smell so resonant for her?
Chorizo rice Spain usually cooks to her when she's behaving very well. It was those time that he was still VERY nice to her and dotes her before he turn evil, manipulative and oppressive somewhere.
• Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for her to throw out? What is difficult for her to part with? Why?
Not exactly throwing out but she'll donate some of her old clothes and shoes and other stuff that can still be used but she doesn't use anymore. As for actual throwing, some beer bottles that accumulated mysteriously in her home, more cat (and dog) dung, some papers that she doesn't need to look over since they're just scratch. Hard to throw? Memorabilias from once upon a time (because it brings back memories), religious items (she'll have to put them somewhere), and some stuff here and there/
• It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing?
Saturday? What else; sleep.
• What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting?
Spain's arrival. It was the first time Philippines saw someone not China and stayed and taught her how to be ACTUALLY civil. It was a lasting memory.
What? It doesn't have to be something sad or something tragic.
• Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is she going? What does she wear? Who will she be with?
To a bar or to where there is drinking. Fancy night out? Yeah, you have to drag her. Normal or casual attire works fine, they don't care about the dress, it's more of the company.
An inverview with your character:
• What do you consider your greatest achievement?
"Independence. Friggin' Declaration of Independence."
• What is your idea of perfect happiness?
"A drink, a laugh or two between friends, and having a good time with people close to you! Oh, and good food! Very good food."
• What is your current state of mind?
"Sleepy.... hungry.... both?"
• What is your favorite occupation?
"Being in the military. Otherwise, I'm good with being in the market, selling stuff."
• What is your most treasured possession?
"The two original copies of Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo."
• What is your favorite journey?
"A lot. What you need to know? My least favorite journey; the Bataan march. I swear..."
• What is your most marked characteristic?
"The fact that, inside meetings, conference and work, I'm pretty tetchy but otherwise I'm just a jolly and friendly female overall. I mean, sure I may sound anal, but have to seperate work from daily life, you know!"
• When and where were you the happiest?
"June 12, 1898; declaration of Philippine Independence. Kawit, Cavite. No need to say further.
And... I guess every June 12, I get all teary-eye happy just looking at my people's patriotism."
• What is it that you most dislike?
"Natural calamities. I swear, another one and-"
• What is your greatest fear?
"Ask me again after you get me into ten rounds of beer.... or anything strong."
• Which living person do you most despise?
"Andal Ampatuan, Sr., for one. And probably the current president, Beningo Aquino III, if he doesn't get his act straight once and for all."
• What is your greatest regret?
"A lot. Too many to list and I don't want to spoil my morning being a bitch because of that."
• Which talent would you most like to have?
"Drinking without bursting a kidney! Haha, just kidding! Pretty much I'm adaptable to changes so throw stuff at me and I'll get used to it in the shortest time possible."
• Where would you like to live?
"I don't know... somewhere peaceful, for once?"
• On what occasions do you lie?
"When I want to shirk work and sleep. Or when I don't want to do anything and be lazy and stuff. Or..."
• Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
"..... 'Opo'?"
• What are your favorite names?
"Maria, Jose, Andres- SHUT UP, BONIFACIO, THIS DOES NOT CONCERNS YOU AND YOU'RE DEAD!- Miguel, Bianca, and some others too many to mention."

Post by shtiya "alaska" landau on Dec 4, 2012 21:18:01 GMT -5
• Who is your character? Alaska -- cause by this time I don't think SHE even remembers her name.
• Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it? Nope.
• What about scars? How did he get them? She has a few on her arms and back, embarrassingly enough from fighting off bears that stumble upon her house. Her old arch enemies... *shakes fist* Another oddity is that she has a slightly disfigured posture, getting this after the Good Friday earthquake.
• Who are your character’s friends and family? Who does he surround himself with? PFFFF--that's funny! Ahem, AK has no actual family. She was unwillingly pulled into Ivan's household but she had long existed alone before that. As for friends, AK has Matthew and oddly enough, Moscow.
• Who are the people your character is closest to? See only two friends.
• Who does he wish he were closest to? She honestly wishes that she were closer to her government officials but Alaska surprisingly has little to do with them.
• Where was your character born? Where has he lived since then? Where does he call home? It would be literally impossible to pinpoint where Alaska came into existence. She was Beringia at the time and the world was a different looking place.
• Where does your character go when he’s angry? The world almost stops spinning for a moment when Alaska's really angry... She usually storms out into the woods with some weapon, be it shotgun, spear or bow, and breaking tree limbs and cursing the world along the way, she goes out and kills whatever sort of game she can find. Alaska will always maintain her same cultural respects for nature and animals, so she of course puts the things she kills to good use.
• What is his biggest fear? Who has he told this to? Who would he never tell this to? Why? Alaska has a diagnosed phobia of owls. But no one really knows that... Her real biggest fear is being rejected, namely by Matthew.
• What makes your character laugh out loud? Watching people fall down the stairs.
• When has your character been in love? Oh yes, a few times actually.
• Had a broken heart? Of course. Otherwise, she'd probably be a different person.
Some unconventional questions:
• What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? Hocks of moose and deer meat, a few tv dinners and some coffee grinds.
• On her bedroom floor?
the corpses of her enemies aha haha... ha. No, she keeps a clean house.
• On her nightstand? A lamp. LAME! She keeps her Valium in the bathroom~
• In her garbage can?
her victims Uh, lots and lots of coffee filters.
• Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Does he wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Is he in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or is he wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by his grandmother? Alaska, in the summer, does not mind going barefoot. But, it being cold, she is equipped with heavy, deer skin boots. They're actually very nice.
• When your character thinks of her childhood kitchen, what smell does she associate with it? Why is that smell so resonant for her? You mean campfires?
• Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for her to throw out? What is difficult for her to part with? Why? Alaska doesn't keep many possessions in her house, mainly because she doesn't have many. Her house is incredibly empty, being just a cabin nestled out in the middle of no where. There are no decorations other than a few pictures over her fire place.
• It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing? Sleeping. Moping. Who knows.
• What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting? When she was very young, Alaska had a moose she had some how managed to domesticate and it tagged along with her every where, making travel a hell of a lot easier. But, come one winter, this little girl was having trouble finding any food and was getting awful hungry. You can probably guess where this is going... Moose sandwiches for the rest of the year.
• Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is she going? What does she wear? Who will she be with? BAHAHA! A night out either means, going to bed early or stumbling down to Anchorage and getting drunk, then roaming the streets, yelling at people.
An inverview with your character:
• What do you consider your greatest achievement? "What achievements? -heh- Well, I used to race the Iditarod years ago. Won quite a few times as well. Of course, I had years of dog sledding under my belt. Then they started catching on and I was no longer allowed to race. Not really a great achievement but it's as close as I've got."
• What is your idea of perfect happiness? "Would it be ridiculous of me to say being alone? Of course I'm a lonely person, but that's only because I was stupid enough to get attached to people who have more important things. My ideal happiness is complete solitude--the way I used to live my life."
• What is your current state of mind? "Ha, aren't you bold. My mind is an awfully dark place ya know... not like I'd let you in on any of my mentalities anyway."
• What is your favorite occupation? "Oh I could be quite the oil tycoon if Alfred's government wasn't full of idiots. And I gave up gold mining long ago. Oho, there's still plenty of gold but I like to reserve my resources for people who deserve them. But, for now, I'll stick to my fishing industries. I don't mind it really, fishing. It's always been a smaller hobby of mine but I still enjoy it nonetheless."
• What is your most treasured possession? "I have very few possessions as it is. I usually only hang on to things if it was given to me by someone. However, I find that my most treasured possessions are my memories. Yes, it's corny but I don't care. They're what I hold on to."
• What is your favorite journey? "Only once have I managed the will power to actually climb Mount Mckinley. I'd scaled a few peaks in my life time but I had never bothered to actually venture to the summit. Call it a midlife crisis maybe, but one day I just decided that I was going to climb that damn mountain. Hell I could've listen this as an achievement!"
• What is your most marked characteristic? "People don't know me for being a very kind or forgiving person. And rightfully so. I would dare say there was once a time when I had a heart that worked. But, I grew tired of dealing with human nature and formulated a personality that would altogether drive people away from me."
• When and where were you the happiest? "When I'm alone, usually up in a tree in the woods or on a large hillside, looking at valleys. It's there that I can be alone and yet be content at the same time."
• What is it that you most dislike? "Oh there are a grand number of things I dislike... Would you call my cliche for saying that my own being is the thing I dislike the most? -heh- Sometimes I feel a bitter distaste in my own mouth when dealing myself. But, I guess if that's the reaction other people get as well, I'm doing my job right."
• What is your greatest fear? "I have various fears; some to ridiculous to even mention. However, I think my greatest fear would be losing Matthew. I'm like a completely different person around him--my old self--a person I wish I could be at all times but I just can't be any more. I enjoy getting to be that person around him because I know he needs a smile and shoulder to lean on just as much as I do. To lose that would be devastating."
• Which living person do you most despise? "Sarah Palin... stop putting that woman in front of a camera. Also the people coming up with Discovery Channel shows! Stop getting in the way of people's winter preparations and careers. I will force feed you your own liver if you don't go away."
• What is your greatest regret? "Perhaps not putting up a bigger fight to retain my culture? Don't get me wrong, Inuit customs still exist and I hold on to what I can. Of course, it's been a task thanks to Ivan and Alfred's government's similar distaste of Native Americans. Believe me, I went down kicking and screaming... but I still wish it existed as it once did."
• Which talent would you most like to have? "Self restraint. Oh that's something I very much lack... I wish I could remember how to fly bush planes. S'not like I go anywhere to need them though and I usually just tough it out and go off-terrain any way."
• Where would you like to live? "I'm perfectly happy living where I do now. I picked out the location of my house, strategically placing it far enough away from humanity but close enough that it doesn't take an hour to get to Anchorage."
• On what occasions do you lie? "Telling people that I'm alright, or not lonely... But who doesn't?"
• Which words or phrases do you most overuse? "I don't tend to use slang or anything of that sort. However, I do find religious slurs quite amusing for religion was always the biggest difference between Ivan and I. I have no stomach for the subject--can't stand the idea of it. So, it's pretty ironic to hear me shouting 'FOR THE LOVE OF GOD' or something of the sort."
• What are your favorite names? "Anyu-- it's Inuit for snow. And I've always loved how in the Yup'ik tribes, newborns would be named after the last deceased member of the tribe. It was respectful but it did make for some interesting names."

Basics first: • Who is your character? Teresa Itzel Sánchez-Hidalgo • Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it? Nope! She doesn’t have any~ • What about scars? How did he get them? -sighs- Want a list? - Small scar on the peak of her hair from the Tribal warfare.
- One on her palm from the Spanish Invasion
- One medium-sized one on her chest from the Mexican War of Independence (made deeper by the Spanish reconquest of Mexico)
- Small one on the bridge of her nose from losing lil’ Texas
- Added a long scar from her waist to the side of her knee on her left side from Mexican-American war.
- Medium-sized scar over her chest from the Mexican Revolution, Border War, Banana Wars, and World War I
- Tiny cut on her right wrist from WWII
- There are several small cuts that sometimes heal from the Zapatista Uprising, the ERP Marxist Guerilla Conflict, and the (ever so famous) Mexican Drug War
• Who are your character’s friends and family? Who does he surround himself with? Family? Well, there’s Central and South America. There is also Canada and America that are, sometimes, her brothers and sometimes her friends. Spain, but that relationship is still a little…iffy. She does get visits from Maya and Aztec on occasion, and she’s also really good friends with Arthur(bonded over their hatred for Francis and Resa’s fear of ghosts) and Gabi! • Who are the people your character is closest to? Alfredo, Mateo, Gabi……Vicente(Cuba!)…and Efrain(Guatemala)~ • Who does he wish he were closest to? Honestly? Spain, Argentina, Brazil…Columbia…Benito Juarez. • Where was your character born? Where has he lived since then? Where does he call home? Somewhere near modern-day Mexico City. She’s lived all over Mexico, but mostly in Mex. Cit. She did hang out a lot with Aztec so… • Where does your character go when he’s angry? America’s house to break his things Stereotypically; the bar. Tequila fixes everything.
• What is his biggest fear? Who has he told this to? Who would he never tell this to? Why? That the cartels will take over, and America will be forced to nuke Mexico so that she’ll no longer be a country; No longer be alive. That, or returning to be a colony. No one. She would definitely not tell it to Alfred because, honestly, she doesn’t want to give him the idea. • What makes your character laugh out loud? Bad things happening to other people; it reminds her that she’s not the only screwed-up nation. (She’ll fall to the floor laughing if it’s Alfred.) • When has your character been in love? She doesn’t like to talk about it, but yes. Resa was in love with Benito Juarez and drank herself silly when he died. • Had a broken heart? She won’t admit it, but yep. Some unconventional questions: • What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? Thirteen bottles of tequila, bologna, salsa, milk, cheese, tortillas, eggs, half a cake (three milks cakes), leftover rice, leftover beans, leftover enchiladas, chocolate…there is also frozen chicken, beef, and other things in the freezer side. • On her bedroom floor? The carpet? Resa keeps a strict, clean room…Unless it’s Sunday morning, then you’ll find a bunch of clothes that may or may not belong to her, and a lot of tequila bottles. • On her nightstand? Alarm clock, bottle of tequila (half-empty), tissues, lamp, and TV remote • In her garbage can? A lot of empty bottles of tequila, a lot of dirty, ripped clothes and soiled bandages. Some throw up… • Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Does he wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Is he in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or is he wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by his grandmother? Painted green toenails. They’re kind of chipped from walking around in sandals. Tennis shoes are usually worn, but not today. She isn’t wearing any socks, and her grandmother certainly didn’t make her any. (Actually, Resa only had grandpa Olmec) Her feet are a little lighter compared to her feet, but that’s because of her slight tan-line. • When your character thinks of her childhood kitchen, what smell does she associate with it? Why is that smell so resonant for her? Haha! Resa didn’t have a “kitchen”. She wasn’t allowed back there when she was a child. The natives would bring it to her and whoever she was staying with. • Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for her to throw out? What is difficult for her to part with? Why? She can easily part with the old clothes (of like…20 years ago, 50 years ago is a different matter), empty bottles, dirt, and even the occasional bedding. She can’t throw out any feathers she finds, or any relics of her past. She had loads of necklaces made of string with gold hanging on them, as well as feather headdresses. She can’t let go of old paintings, or even gifts. • It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing? Sleeping, or getting ready to go out and drink with the friends. • What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting? Standing on the high steps of a pyramid, looking down as the Aztecs get ready to start their sacrificial rites; it was such a big part of her childhood. (For all those years before Spain had found her, she was big on human sacrifice. • Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is she going? What does she wear? Who will she be with? Probably a bar not in Mexico. It’s fun to visit other places. She’s probably wearing dark jeans, boots, and some sort of turtleneck or polo. Chances are, she’ll be with Gabi, Matteo, or Alfredo. An interview with your character: • What do you consider your greatest achievement? Kicking Spain out of my house! No! Any single freaking time I beat Argentina or Brazil in a soccer game. • What is your idea of perfect happiness? Holding a bottle of tequila in one hand, a soccer trophy in another, and with my lil’ Tejas on my face. • What is your current state of mind? Upset. Apparently, Scotland has standards. I don’t fit said standards. • What is your favorite occupation? Futbolista! It’s more fun than anyone can imagine; so much better than being stuck indoors and doing paperwork. Odio the paperwork. • What is your most treasured possession? I have this knife…that Nantli gave to me when I was younger. I keep it in this wooden box that Taat made for me. • What is your favorite journey? I get that it’s really close to home, so it probably shouldn’t be fantastico, but I really do love visiting America. Everywhere else gives you this culture shock, pero going to America – especially if you’re driving – is sort of a…progressive thing. It gradually becomes more American or more Mexican. • What is your most marked characteristic? Ah. Well…I’m very…I dunno, motherly? I like to take care of my family and make sure that everything is okay with them, even if we’re fighting. Even if they treat me like crap; I make sure everyone is happy. • When and where were you the happiest? Definitely before I became New Spain. I was so…happy, so innocent. I wasn’t aware that anything I did was bad. • What is it that you most dislike? Being overshadowed. I’ve always had this thing about being overshadowed. I don’t like it, but it happens all the time. That’s what happens when you share your borders with Alfred. • What is your greatest fear? A lot of people would say Death, but she’s totally cool. I would say my biggest fear would be falling in love, getting married…teniendo hijos, and then having them leave me for someone else….Y, no, that fear is not influenced by anybody. • Which living person do you most despise? It’s hard to say…I hate a lot of people. Still, I think I would say Brazil? He’s such an arrogant bastard. Maybe Scotland. “have standards.” • What is your greatest regret? Not taking that deal with America when he first tried it. If I had listened, I might have kept more of my kids. • Which talent would you most like to have? Not having a hangover. That would be great. I suppose…pretty much being able to stand up against anything that would physically, emotionally, or psychologically cause you harm would be cool. No more bleeding all over the place. Yo quiero eso. • Where would you like to live? Tenochtitlan! Not Mexico City, but…eh. Back in the day, it was more grand than any other city. • On what occasions do you lie? Situations where I could get myself in trouble. I would prefer for my friends not to be angry at me, so little lies don’t matter…much. • Which words or phrases do you most overuse? “Ay!” I say that a lot, y “Maldita sea,” I have quite a mouth on me…I cuss…mucho. • What are your favorite names? Benito! Definitely Benito, but I am also fond of Ixchel and Itzel, Felipe, Juan, Jose…Maria

Basics first: • Who is your character?
Arthur Kirkland • Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it?
No birthmark, strictly speaking. • What about scars? How did he get them?
Ha! I don’t think I have the patience to list them all… He’s littered with them. • Who are your character’s friends and family? Who does he surround himself with?
Friends? And those are? To be blunt, Arthur doesn’t have many friends. Perhaps a better description would be complicated… Some are more like allies, there are some who make fun of him or plan nasty things behind his back, those who used to bully him but are fine with him later, a certain ‘sister’ that he’s almost convinced has Borderline Personality Disorder. His family consists of an insane bunch of British nations: each with their own stew of problems and levels of questionable sanity (all according to him.) Most of his early memories are with his older brothers, Ewan and Bran… whom he actually cares quite a bit for, but would never show it. He also feels close to certain others that he had a hand in raising. (e.g. America, Canada) and still loves them quite a bit (platonic, of course.) He will not admit to any of this. >-> • Who are the people your character is closest to?
Heh, hilarious. Not many if any at all. • Who does he wish he were closest to?
America... Sometimes his brothers. Other than that, can’t really say that he’d ever want to be close to anyone else in the world. Never really liked it much to begin with. Suffice it to say, his heart is hardened and sealed. • Where was your character born? Where has he lived since then? Where does he call home?
The British Isles… He doesn’t recall where exactly. • Where does your character go when he’s angry?
Wherever there’s liquor. And lots of it. Preferably alone. • What is his biggest fear? Who has he told this to? Who would he never tell this to? Why?
His fear has always been being abandoned. He’s harbours a lot of unresolved pain/anger and this inevitably reflects on his behaviour, words, and actions. He’s a supremely closed individual and would never let anyone know this. What they don’t know can’t be used against him, right? Well, that’s his line of thought. Portugal might suspect, but he’s never told her and he wouldn’t want to. He’s very good at keeping others at a distance. In the past, he believed that it was better to be feared than loved. Well, now he believes that it’s better to be free from future misery than loved. • What makes your character laugh out loud?
Seeing France humiliated. • When has your character been in love?
Not counting sexual relationships, (because that is not love first of all and I would rather not list those anyhow.. >.>) he has been in love multiple times. Of course, nothing ended well, so that’s wonderful. • Had a broken heart?
Yes. Several times over. Anyone who has ever experienced it knows that anyone can break your heart—it isn’t limited to romantic relationships. Everyone comes and goes. They attempt to warm his heart over before tossing it aside. Hell would have to freeze over before he admits that Alfred really did a number on him at the time. Time and half-heal-overs (SR establishment) did sooth a portion of that. Some unconventional questions: • What is in your character’s refrigerator right now?
Cider, ale, milk, cream, eggs, half a loaf of brown bread, barely-thawed stew meat, lard, an unidentified lumpy mixture in a bowl, a small assortment of vegetables, black currant jelly, marmalade, other assortment of opened preserves, and leftover curry. • On his bedroom floor?
It’s quite clean. He rarely leaves anything lying around. • On his nightstand?
A lamp with a crochet covering over the shade, an old-fashioned, shrill alarm clock, maybe some empty liquor bottles if you catch sight of it before he dutifully clears them all away, and a tube of something that he is currently trying to stash beneath his mattress as quickly as possible. • In his garbage can?
Bottles, bottles, and oh look… some more bottles. • Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Does he wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Is he in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or is he wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by his grandmother?
Anything spotless—kept very neat and clean. It would be nice if they were the sort that needed a good shine every once in a while. • When your character thinks of his childhood kitchen, what smell does he associate with it? Why that is smell so resonant for him?
No such thing existed in the middle of nowhere where nothing kitchen-related had yet to be thought up. • Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for him to throw out? What is difficult for him to part with? Why?
He can’t… throw anything out... Seriously, his cellar is packed with all sorts of odd trinkets. He keeps them in order by decade and era. Everything that he keeps has its purpose: to always remind him of the good and the bad of every wonderful and aching moment. • It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing?
At noon? Well, that’s a bit too early to be drinking on most days. Either catching up on work or reading a book. • What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting?
The time when Bran taught him how to shoot an arrow. Probably one of the very few kind things that his brothers had ever done for him. (That sticks out the most to him.) • Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is he going? What does he wear? Who will he be with?
Probably out drinking… wearing what he usually wears—casual dressy. Who he’s with varies. Usually no one. An interview with your character: • What do you consider your greatest achievement?
”Pax Britannica.” (raising Alfred…) • What is your idea of perfect happiness?
”What’s the use of imagining perfect happiness? Nothing that like exists or ever will exist in this sodding world.” • What is your current state of mind?
”Irritated-- with answering these.” • What is your favorite occupation?
”Privateer. It was a legitimate occupation. Brutalising Spain was simply a pleasant accompaniment.” • What is your most treasured possession?
”I honestly have too many to say… most of them are quite old.” • What is your favorite journey?
”Sea ventures back in the day when the world was just a bit more exciting to travel about and discover… nothing can compare.” • What is your most marked characteristic?
”A lot of things are said about me. Very few, if any, are pleasant.” • When and where were you the happiest?
”I’d rather not talk about that...” • What is it that you most dislike?
”Foppish twits, hair-brained ideas, and promises.” • What is your greatest fear?
”Why on Earth would I tell you something like that? In any case, I’m sure it’s of little importance.” • Which living person do you most despise?
”At the moment… Vladimir Putin.” • What is your greatest regret?
”Perhaps another day...” • Which talent would you most like to have?
”To relocate so that I may have different neighbours. I’ve been wishing that for the past thousand years.” • Where would you like to live?
”My home is perfectly fine, thank you.” • On what occasions do you lie?
”When it is necessary.” • Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
”I don’t think I overuse any particular words or phrases. Others probably will tell you otherwise.” • What are your favorite names?
”Elizabeth, Emma, Abigail, Emily, Catherine, Victoria, Alice, Anne, Stewart, John, Henry, Peter, Gregory, James, William, Alfred, George, Edward… are all suitable names. ”
