CLAY “TEXAS” SMITH
We're laying down tracks you're never gonna walk in,
Ahead of our time while you were busy watching.
Everybody wants to be a lonestar, a hero,
But only Texas has it all.
We're laying down tracks you're never gonna walk in,
Ahead of our time while you were busy watching.
Everybody wants to be a lonestar, a hero,
But only Texas has it all.
I Feel Like We're Summoning The Devil
Nickname/Alias: Slick, Tex, “Clay”
Gender: Male
Character Type: State
Country or Country of Origin: America…now
Canon or Original: Original (except for lil’ Texas represented through America’s glasses)
[/size][/ul]
When I look into all of your stupid faces
I think how fun it will be to pound them into dust
Hair: Blonde
Height and Weight: 6’ & 167
Other Distinguishing Features:
- Prominent tan-line “Farmer’s tan”
- Scar on his shoulder from fight for independence
- Tattoo on his neck
- Other, small scars from wars
Overall Appearance: As his state, a lot of Clay’s features closely resemble those of America. On the other hand, he also shares some features with some of the other countries that have ruled over him. In contrast to his ‘mother’s’ hair, his hair is a golden blond. It depends on the day how it is styled. Sometimes, his hair is in spikes that can only be controlled by slipping on a cowboy hat, and other times it lies flat with only the ends slightly sticking out.
Depending on what job he is doing, he can wear a variety of clothes. If he is out on his ranch – which he is wont to be – he is usually wearing one of the most worn pair of Levi or Wrangler jeans. Tucked comfortably into them is probably a long sleeved, button-down shirt that has two breast pockets. He has an assortment of solid colored shirts and striped shirts given to him over the ages, but his favorite kind – and the kind he wears most often – are plaid. They are always well ironed and wrinkle-free. Likewise, Clay also owns a variety of cowboy boots and belts.
Not always the cowboy, Clay has a very modern look, too. He doesn’t like to dress up in suits, but he does have the habit of wearing one underneath a lab coat of some kind whenever he is working in the lab or in an office in Fort Worth, Dallas, Houston, or Austin. On this occasion, he’s more likely to be wearing his glasses and wandering around with his hair spiked in odd directions. Military wise, he usually wears whatever branch he is currently working in. (Although, he isn’t really fond of the Navy so much as the Army and the Air Force.)

- Even when he doesn’t have a hat on, he subconsciously tips it when he’s greeting someone
- When he’s talking about technology, it’s hard to take him seriously due to his drawl
Overall Personality: Clay was raised by a lot of different countries – six, if you include himself. Because of that, he's had to deal with a lot of different lifestyles, and has changed a lot because of it. He was never, really, a snob or a rich brat. Texas kind of goes along with whatever he wants; doing the things that he wants to do. He prefers to do things his own way, and makes it happen until people go along with his way. (Or, until they knock him off of his 'high horse' and make him see reason.) Clay is smart, even if not a lot of people see that aspect of him under his 'cowboy persona'. He may be smart, but he doesn't like to sit in classes at Universities, nor does he like to lay around idly as things happen. He prefers to be active. That doesn't mean he isn't talented or anything; he is very talented with a guitar, and he can sing (although, he does not like to do so in public.)
He is a rebel child. He will listen when he has to – however begrudgingly it is, but he does like to break the rules. Yes, he is normally a Southern Gentlemen, but that doesn't mean that he'll always do something that he doesn't want to do, especially if he is really against it. Clay has a tendency to be smug, arrogant, competitive, and rude, but he is also quirky and loyal. He won't tolerate for his loved ones to be put down, and will fight on their behalf regardless of whether or not they ask him to. He may not always act like it, but he is wise when he puts his mind to it. He has spouts of wisdom, even if he doesn't like to show it. He can be withdrawn and has a tendency to overwork, but that's in his nature.
