Yep, it was time of the year, and it was unfortunate that not only he's the first one in the meeting place, he's also the one who was insisted to spearhead it. Hopefully, he'll get a helping hand about it anytime soon.
Otherwise...
"Knew I should have not picked the last straw!"
After writing the meeting's objectives in the blackboard, the brunette Capital adjusted his glasses (he just HAVE to forget his contacts back at home) in the bridge of his nose as he sighed and looked at the scrap of paper in his hands. "Man, responsibilities." He groaned with a mild frown before shifting through the papers in front of his seat, looking at it over and over and planning on how to tackle it. Being a stickler of time, it was a surprise from time to time that someone like him to be this serious and initiative especially when it calls down to important meetings like these, mildly impatient that some of the capitals might not appear. Well, attendance isn't really mandatory, but it would be helpful since it'll help them assist their respective nations and discuss about the problems they need to tackle. It's one of those days he needs to cut the crap and get his act straight.
Well, no used crying over spilled milk.
"Where ARE they?"
And, thus, he spent the rest of the fifteen minutes checking on his watch while waiting for any capitals to attend to the fateful meeting. [/style]

It wasn't unheard of for the capitals to have meetings as well as the nations. It was more rare, but certainly not unheard of.
This year, Tokyo was hosting the meeting. Mackenzie would have liked it to be located a bit closer to home, but she wasn't complaining too much. Soji was nice enough, and she didn't mind the atmosphere in his borders either. The issue was with the traveling. Even if the meeting was in Europe, she wouldn't have to do as much traveling.
Nevertheless, after being cooped up in a plane for several hours with nothing but an audio book to keep her company, she was happy to get off of the plane and move about. Danii was on a different flight, unfortunately - sometimes they would come to these meetings together, but this wasn't one of those occasions.
When she found herself outside of the building in question, she darted inside. She knew that punctuality was a lost cause at these things, but she still did not want to be the last to show. That would just be awkward.
She reached the room and opened the door, just in time to hear Soji mumbling to himself. She smiled when she saw that it was only Soji. She wasn't running late after all. In fact, she was first to arrive other than Soji! Well that made her feel a lot better. "Well, I'm right here. Not sure where the others are yet. Danii and I took different flights." She spoke quiet, but firm. Mackenzie took a seat. That was another good thing about arriving early - You had access to all of the best seats.

Abbey had brought along books to read on her flight, but ended up sleeping most of the way because she didn’t want to be doing so during the meeting. She was pretty sure the other capitals wouldn’t appreciate that, and if they could deal with the time difference and jet lag, then why couldn’t she? Anyway, she really didn’t particularly want to go to the meeting because it meant leaving her country for a period of time, but at least she wouldn’t be alone. Her country was always much better at dealing with alone time than she was, and so she had told him she’d be back in a few days, given him a hug, and got on the plane. It definitely was a decently long trip from her home in England to Japan. It could always be worse though she supposed. At least she had checked the weather first and thus knew what to pack.
The blonde capital had left a bit earlier than she needed to, and thus checked into a hotel to continue her nap for a few hours before the meeting. Yeah, so she had woken up a little bit later than she wanted to, and thus ended up having to rush to get ready before heading out to the meeting. She yawned as she walked into the building the meeting was being held in and then tried to locate the room they were using. After a few minutes of getting a bit lost she managed to find it and opened the door. It would seem, that she wasn’t late at all, and that just the host and Ottawa had arrived. Hum, she wondered if the rest of the capitals were just jetlagged and thus running on their own time still, or if they were going to not come for one reason or another. She waved to the two in the room and took a seat relatively near the capital of Canada. ”I was going to say that I overslept and got lost, but apparently that doesn’t matter because there are only three of us.” she noted idly with a slight smile. ”I’m going to make some tea while we wait, anyone want some?” she offered with a smile before leaving her light jacket on the chair and wandering over to find where things were located in the room. She would be extremely surprised if there wasn’t a way to make tea or coffee in the room considering the meetings did tend to drag on at times and thus it tended to be needed at some point.

It wasn't exactly something that thrilled Nikolai, but neither did he see it as too much of an inconvenience. Regardless, though his expression was as stoic and unfeeling as always, the capital of Belarus was inwardly thrilled to be in Japan. He'd arrived early that morning, and normally would have been there as soon as the door was open, but instead had spent all of his time browsing the manga shops. Unfortunately, finding cyrillic translations here was a laughable attempt, but he found there were a decent amount of english translations he could make do with. As much as he was enjoying his time, however, he did have official business to attend to, and may it never be said that Minsk was anything but punctual. So, with a bag full of manga in one hand, and a very large bottle of strawberry milk in the other, complete with a straw, Nikolai could finally be bothered to walk through the door. He looked at the other three capitals already gathered with his usual air of apathy, which almost looked comedic when coupled with the fact that he was sipping out of a rather flamboyantly pink bottle filled with an equally flamboyantly colored beverage. "Vitayu." he greeted around his straw, setting his bag of manga down on the table. "I would have been here earlier, but I wanted to take some time to browse the shops." he explained, still sipping on his straw. It was only because it's Tokyo and Greece told her to that Athens was attending. She doesn't care of they think of her as a child (she just look like one), she doesn't care if everyone else would have to bother about their petty arguments like their respective nations, she only came here for the meeting and for Greece and that's it. Any dilly-dally coming from them would be either ignored or ignored. Anastasia wasn't really pissed about it, it's just that it was a short-term notice and it breaks her normal routine of sleep and play. Adjusting her odd-looking hat, the blonde-haired capital finally arrived to see that the objective of the meeting is already written at the blackboard and a handful of capitals have arrived as well. Well, this is the first time she wasn't late, but she wasn't early as well. Tokyo seems to be a bit agitated about the meeting as usual (though she doesn't blame him since he rarely spearheads these kind of things unless necessary) and as for the rest.... well.... Yeah, she'll leave it up inside her mind. Kids."Don't we have any chocolate drink instead?" Piped the child-like capital as she trotted herself towards her own seat, pouting that her seat is tall leaving her feet danging on the ground, but otherwise settled herself. "But coffee's fine too. Just add lots of milk, ok?" The female added before giving a wave to everyone in the room. "I came here as fast as I could, though." Athens added to Tokyo, waving one hand at dismissal. He never really like to be late, things have to be on time and in order, it's troublesome. Lateness may not be intolerable on Tokyo's standards (as seen how prompt and early people from Tokyo are) but it would be nicer if most would be early.

Looking toward the door, Mackenzie kept track of everyone turning up so far. Shortly after Mackenzie's arrival came Abbey, who offered to make tea. "I'll have some!" She responded with a smile. "Do you need any help making it?" She questioned, figuring they'd probably be waiting a while for everyone to turn up. Might as well do something to keep themselves occupied while they waited!
After Abbey came Nikolai. It was rather amusing that he apologized for being late when he was the fourth to arrive out of many. "It's alright, Abbey and I haven't been here long either." And they were still waiting for several of the others to turn up.
Anastasia was next after Nikolai, making her own requests for a warm drink upon Abbey's offer. If Abbey was going to work on tea duty, she'd prepare the coffee.
She glanced at the clock, noting that it was about time for the meeting to start. She doubted that Soji was too pleased about these circumstances - Admittedly, things came up, but they were still missing several. Punctuality was a lost cause at meetings indeed.
Sure enough, Soji made the 'no more excuses' announcement. He did not seem as annoyed as usual, though she still caught on to the slight nippiness in his tone. Waiting ten more minutes seemed reasonable, though any more than that and it would start getting ridiculous. Danii hadn't even turned up yet. "Maybe they're all caught in traffic?" That was the only excuse that could really cover everyone at this point.

Some said that she was a bit of a traditionalist in this sense. Even travelling time was not necessarily down time for the capital. She remained busy between packing, signing papers, arranging important documents and notes alongside her laptop while waiting for the flight. The actual flight was as enjoyable as usual for her: not much. Lisbet never got into it. She preferred what the others might call archaic forms of travel, but that wouldn’t deter her from reminiscing over it. She had kept in contact with Dublin over the course of her dull flight, as they had agreed to meet up briefly before the actual conference. Travel was always so tedious and dull. Never a disappointment of expectations for the ever unimpressed blonde capital.
Arriving in Tokyo was slightly more exciting, but she didn’t show it. It had been a long while since she had last visited the crowded city. She never was one for crowds, always preferring the lovely solitude of her green knolls and chilled, clean air. Her wide eyes glanced among the crowds and she gripped her luggage tightly as she made her way through the airport. This was always her least favourite part of travel and it never lessened over the years. Typing away at her mobile, she finally managed to bump into Rory at God knows where. And in greeting, she gave him her customary hit on the side of his arm. Not too hard, but not at all gentle. That was a usual Lisbet-greeting for the Dubs as a small smile finally formed.
And that’s why they were not as punctual as they could’ve been…
They went off for something to eat quickly before the meeting, somewhere close, but apparently that didn’t matter, as they were going to be late anyhow. Lisbet was only ever able to take these capital conferences seriously whenever her nation told her to. She listened in that sense; otherwise, she wasn’t too keen on taking everything with as much seriousness as she took most other matters. Even now, it was difficult to shake off her distant, unruly nature beneath her calm exterior.
The time was not being watched, so it was sort of a mutual noticing of the time when Lisbet left money on the table and pulled the other capital with her from wherever they were eating at. She wasn’t even sure what she had eaten, but it wasn’t bad. Perhaps a little too salty for her very practical, bland tastes. As soon as she walked into the conference room, Lisbet glanced about, secretly amused at how few there really were. And she was late. She took her seat close to London and Ottawa, setting her unidentifiable drink that she had gotten from the…. wherever they had gone. It tasted like tea, but not quite. Either way, she wasn’t going to waste it. ”Unnskyld,” she apologised, her expression neutral, the remorse nonexistent. ”The food here is interesting.” The nonchalant comment came a little later as she tasted her drink once more. The concept of punctuality was pretty much lost on Rory. He showed up whenever he damn well pleased and was usually drinking. Whether it was a conference or just out to dinner unless it was Erin he was going to be late. Why? Well, the answer to that was that he just didn’t particularly care. He knew he had to go, but he’d show up whenever he damn well felt like it. It wasn’t as if they really discussed anything they didn’t already know or that was too important. That was usually left to the actual countries rather than the capitals. Ah well, he had said goodbye to his country then hopped on a flight to Tokyo. It was a rather far flight, and while he did fall asleep a few times, he did manage to keep in contact with Oslo as well. He figured since they would probably land early anyway they might as well meet up and have lunch or something before heading over for the meeting. Did he also forget to mention he did have a few drinks on the flight? Well, he wasn’t wasted or anything at least, but he was at least in a much better mood by the time he got off the plane. Though, he could still go for another nap if given the option.
Anyway, once he found his luggage he went about locating the blonde capital. Well, this was easier said than done, she wasn’t exactly the tallest in the world, and didn’t quite stick out. Granted, neither did he, and so it took them some time to find one another. Eventually they did manage to find one another due to a mix of cellphones and deciding one of them should probably just stop walking around and let the other come to them. He was punched in the arm per usual and he smiled before ruffling her hair. They then proceeded to go find something to eat and he remembered suddenly that he couldn’t actually read Japanese. Well, he had never found the attention span to actually learn it, and that was his own fault so he just pointed to something from both the drink menu and the food menu. It wasn’t bad, but he was under the distinct impression that he had somehow actually ordered more alcohol by mistake. Well, at least the meeting would be interesting if nothing else if that was the case.
Suddenly though Lisbet was leaving money on the table and he did the same before being pulled off to the meeting. He had managed to grab his drink and was bringing it with him because why the hell not at this point? He was dragged into the meeting room and took his seat next to Oslo and sipped at his drink again. Hearing her comment about the food being interesting he smiled slightly. ”I’m pretty sure I accidentally ordered alcohol.” he said simply with a slight chuckle. Honestly it was probably expected at this point. Oops? Oh well, nothing he could do about it now that it was mostly gone. No sense in wasting it after all.

Abbey could tell pretty easily that Tokyo was getting annoyed by everyone showing up later than him. It wasn’t their fault most of them had to travel halfway across the world to get there. He just had to go a couple miles, they all had to take flights there. ”In all fairness, most of us DO have to travel across the world to get here unlike you Soji.” she pointed out with a raised eyebrow at the impatient capital as she made tea for herself. Flights got delayed all the time, and traffic was perpetually a wreck so he probably should be less of a grump about it considering he had the least amount of travel and so of course he was early. Minsk walked in almost right behind her with a milkshake, and then behind him was Anastasia. Well, at least they were showing up now so maybe he’d be less grumpy about things? The blonde capital doubted that slightly, but there was nothing she could do about it.
Hearing Ottawa suggest they were all in traffic, Abbey did suppose that was possible, but then Oslo and Dublin wandered in one dragging the other along. The English capital face palmed when Rory announced that he accidentally ordered alcohol. Only he would manage that without realizing what it was right away. They took a seat next to her and Ottawa and she resisted the urge to swat him for such nonsense. Ah well, there was nothing that could be done for that. At least there were more of them now, enough to actually have a meeting despite so many still missing from the room. ”I wonder if anyone else will even show up?” she pondered idly with a slight smile. Maybe they forgot there was even a meeting, or maybe they just decided coming was unneeded.

Bri had this look that was painfully close to murder on her scarred face. She wasn't used to being late to anything, ever. It was pretty much a given fact that you could always rely on her and her country to be on time to everything, fashionably late was not something the Germans even knew existed, and were in fact appalled when people tried to use that an excuse. So the fact that she wasn't already sitting in the meeting room by the time everyone else started to file in was definitely eyebrow raising to anyone that knew her, or at the very least knew of her. And the lack of punctuality probably also explained that deeply, deeply sour look on her face.
Lulu just needed to go shopping. That woman and her shopping habits, how her sister still had room in her closest for more crap was literally beyond her, though Bri had to applaud her dedication to the craft. Since she apparently saw it as such. Either way the elder Nacht was safely stashed away in a hotel room with more clothing then she knew what to do with and all Brigitte could hope was that the woman would stay out of trouble, at least for the duration of the conference. Gott she didn't need a repeat of last time, when she had to dash out early because Lulu was trying to drown Gilbert in the hotel pool.
Frown firmly in place Bri strode into the conference room with purpose, heaving boots announcing her presence as she swiftly looked everyone over, "Verzeihen Sie mir," Bri pardoned herself, "I would have been here sooner, but mein schwester......she is a handful when it comes to shopping," Anyone that had ever come across Brandenburg would probably have a slight bit of sympathy for Berlin having to deal with her. She would have liked to have just left her at home for a matter of fact. Sighing, and still looking very much annoyed at her own tardiness Brigitte took her seat, arms crossing across her chest and head ducked low in a sad attempt to hide the scar across her face with the bill of her cap.
