When I look into all of your stupid faces
I think how fun it will be to pound them into dust
Hair: Brown
Height and Weight: 5’6†& 133 lbs
Other Distinguishing Features:
Toris keeps this “special†trait a secret from everyone. It’s a secret only Ivan knows of. Underneath his uniform hides his cluster of scars on his upper back. Some deeper than others. They crisscross against one another, all over the place, covering his whole back in these scars leaving very little room for untouched skin. The sight of it might take someone back with the brutality of the look of the scars which is why Toris dislikes taking off his shirt. All scars are old, some very old and healed nicely with just a light gash while other scars weren’t so lucky with healing cleanly. Some of the scars are longer than others, given the position of the whip when it collided with his skin.
Overall Appearance:
Toris has brown hair down to his shoulders, almost touching them until he tilts his head to one side then his hair easily hits the shoulder he’s leaning toward. A beautiful shade of ocean blue and sometimes wide eyed in fear when spotting Ivan, even if the Russian’s far away. As for his uniform Toris wears a pure white undershirt with a dark green jacket, usually buttoned up just barely exposing his white undershirt and olive green tie. His pants match the color of his jacket. [/size][/ul]
Man up or I'll beat you with my peace prize!

Dislikes:
- Cold weather
- Ivan’s violence
- Worrying himself sick
- Greasy food

Strengths:
Under the rein of the Soviet Union Toris learned how to do a lot of different things that built his strengths. One of these things is housecleaning. He’s very good at keeping things clean and organizing them as he picks up. Toris can clean a room spotless all while organizing in a short amount of time. This is because during the Soviet Union he’d have to clean in a small amount of time or risk being beaten or yelled at for failing. He learned little tricks to quickly organize and clean in a timely manner from reading household magazines. Anytime he finds another useful hint he’ll put it to use as soon as possible. Even more so if it’s a tip to increase the speed of cleaning up.
Just like cooking, Toris learned how to cook while under the Soviet Union. He has learned more cooking in the Soviet Union than if he were to stay with his Lithuanian cuisine. After being assigned to handle most of the cooking, Toris had to quickly master all of Ivan’s favorite food and different kinds of Ukrainian and Belarusian food. Although he only makes Lithuanian cuisine and Belarusian food while trying to win over Natalya’s heart, he still remembers how to make Ivan’s favorite food and the most common of the Russian and Ukrainian cuisine.
Toris is a great chess player, but playing against Feliks isn’t that hard. Still he believes he’s a great chess player just the same. In fact it comes with any games that requires brainwork. He’s slightly cocky when it comes to believing he can’t lose any games where thinking is the key. He’s able to quickly make decisions and excellent at strategizing which aids him in making quick and correct moves.
Weaknesses:
Toris can literally make himself sick with worry and depression, resulting in terrible stomachaches. It’s so bad, sometimes, it makes him have to lay down and sleep most of the day just to get better. At times he takes cold medication for his stomachaches, but it’s rare since he doesn’t want to act loopy and do something he regrets later because of the cold medication.
Normally, he gets himself sick when it comes to worrying about or fearing he’s going to be abused by Ivan again. It’s mostly Ivan and Natalya that’s the cause for his sickness. He can get ill worrying about someone else such as Eduard, Raivis, Feliks or Alfred. It’s not limited to these countries alone, anyone has the ability to make him ill if he thinks about them so much, stressing out if they’re okay.
Some might call him a worry wart because of worrying himself sick. Toris has never thought of himself as a worry wart even though some think he is. He’s just sensitive to others and has a weak stomach which doesn’t allow him to handle stress well. He hasn’t been prescribed any medication for his this stress or anxiety mostly because he doesn’t believe he needs it.
Toris also has a habit of getting extremely nervous and as a result will shake uncontrollably and most of the time. No matter how hard he tries to control his body during these episodes of shaking, he’s not able to and this always follows his other weakness which is shuttering. At times Toris won’t even be able to find his own words to say something back while other times Toris will be able to, but not without stuttering.
Fears:
- Going back under Russia’s control
- Being beaten/killed by Ivan
- Natalya never returning his feelings
Secrets:
- The scars on his back
Any Quirks/Habits:
Loses his ability to speak and/or stuttering when extremely nervous about something. He’s also unable to control anytime he’ll tremble with fear, usually when seeing Ivan or just getting nervous about something in general.
Overall Personality:
Most of the time Toris comes off as being weak. Trembling, shaky voice, stuttering and sometimes nervous fast talking could fool anyone into thinking he doesn’t have a backbone, but all of these are shoved aside when he needs to do something important.
One of these times involved a planned attack by the Russians to snag Poland, but against his fear, Toris forced himself to get on the phone (the land-line which could be tapped for all he knows) just to warn Feliks of the approaching danger which could’ve resulted in a beating from Ivan should he find out. He couldn’t stand back and allow this to happen and pushed aside all his fears. Sometimes he has the ability to do this and other times he loses his bravery.
When it involves Ivan, he always thinks about it for a minute or two if it’s worth being beaten for later on. While in the Soviet Union Toris would do everything Ivan said and anytime he’d do something Ivan didn’t like, he’d cover his tracks no matter if it’s saying something wrong or making a meal wrong. Toris never wants to step on Ivan's toes, but when it involves something to help another keep from danger, he’ll go against his own fears to make sure they’re safe.
often plagued by nightmares
Since the Soviet Union Toris finds himself having terrible nightmares about being under Ivan’s rein again, abuse and being taken away from Feliks. Dreams about Ivan and being taken under his control usually cause him to wake up yelling at Feliks for the uncaring words he said to him, or waking up in a cold sweat where he'll be breathing deeply, his heart racing and feeling light headed. Sometimes his nightmares are memories instead of dreams such as being dragged to the torture room and tortured by Ivan. He begs him to stop, but Ivan never does and his screams get louder. Finally he wakes up from his dream, screaming. Always after these type of nightmares, he’ll touch his back, feeling underneath the material his deep scars.
Toris believes nothing can be done about these horrible nightmares and sometimes tries staying up all hours of the night just to keep from falling asleep. Coffee hardly works, but it doesn’t stop him from trying. Half the time he’ll get more jittery than anything and after so long of being wide awake, fall asleep anywhere. Sometimes the nightmares come after drinking his weight in coffee and other times the nightmares will stay away.
Under the Soviet Union Toris would often have nightmares of being yanked away from Feliks and taken to Russia to stay with Ivan. One time during the nightmare, more a memory though, he woke up in a cold sweat, shouting and it startled Eduard and Raivis, who he use to share a bed with while under Ivan’s control. It took awhile for Toris to return to sleep again and this time he didn’t have any nightmares, having a very peaceful sleep.
When Toris worked for Alfred he would sometimes have these horrible nightmares, but Alfred would never know it because he kept quiet about them. He never would shout like he use to. His fears of returning to Russia caused his nightmares and the nightmare soon turned into a cold, harsh reality.
kind hearted & caring
Toris’ very kind hearted despite his abuse. He’ll go over and beyond for those he views as friends. Even though they might have wronged him in the past he’ll usually overlook this and return to being their friend. An example of this is when Feliks made him upset with his uncaring nature when he was yanked away from him by Ivan. Fast-forward years into the future the moment Toris overheard Ivan speaking with his boss about taking over the country of Poland, he instantly called him. He could’ve easily shrugged it off because of the words Feliks said to him, but he didn’t. His kind heart couldn’t stand him going against Feliks and letting Ivan take over. Someone with a grudge could never do that.
Another time of him displaying his kind heart was when trying to explain to Peter that becoming a country has more cons than pros such as Ivan being able to easily take over a small country like him. He went on a nervous rant, without seeing Ivan standing right there or he would’ve stayed silent, trying to make him see becoming a country isn’t something he’ll want because of all the dangers. Toris couldn’t stand seeing someone hurt so it showed how much he cared about someone he just met.
easy to take advantage of
His kind heart allows him to be open to new friends, given the chance he gets to know them first, then he’d do anything for them. The problem with making new friends is Toris can easily be taken advantage of by those he believes are his friends. Not only that, he’s able to be pushed around, but not just by friends by anyone Toris’ is afraid of such as Ivan. If Toris isn’t careful he might made friends with someone who would lead injure him like when he developed a crush on Natalya and no matter how much pain she put him through he never thought differently of her. This can be a huge problem because Toris, given his kind heart, will often overlook these things unless it’s something he can’t look away from, but this is rare. Toris couldn’t think differently of his friend, Feliks, after his words so it’s difficult to tell what would make him stop worrying and being friends with someone.
heart set on Natalya
Toris’ sights are set on the beautiful Natalya. He’ll focus all his attention on showing her his love, even though she flat out rejects him every time. She never returns his feelings, and at times breaks his leg, arm or fingers. Through all his pain Toris won’t allow anything to get him to see Natalya differently. Not even the pain of her breaking all his fingers.
He’s never been able to get over his deep feelings for her, and doesn’t plan on trying to hide his feeling for her. This one sided relationship has taken a toll on his sweet heart, but Toris won’t give up. When he finally managed to get a date with her, it only lasted for three minutes before she became annoyed with him and broke all his fingers. Broken hearted and in pain Toris walked away, but he still holds his feelings for her which won’t go away, no matter the abuse he undergoes.
His heart’s set on Natalya and he believes he’ll never be able to get over her and he won’t even stop trying. Toris has even tried to get her to love him through cooking Belarusian food, but that hasn’t worked either. He believes one day he’ll get her attention and she’ll return his feels, but currently he hasn’t had any luck.
jealous of ivan
Not only is he afraid to death of Ivan, but he’s also jealous of him because Natalya pays so much attention to him when Toris throws himself at her, only to receive an uninterested response. He doesn’t know what Ivan has, that he doesn’t. He wonders if it’s because Ivan has a larger country than him. All he wants is for Natalya to feel the same way about him that she feels for Ivan, and even though it appears hopeless, Toris’ hopeful she’ll sooner or later look his way.
In the meantime he won’t be able to keep his jealousy from being shown when Natalya tries to get Ivan to notice her while Toris watches. He can’t watch for long or his jealousy turns to anger for Ivan. When angry at Ivan, he might say or do something and get in trouble for it, then regret it later on.

I'm the hero!
When Toris was young he once had present-day Ukraine, some places in Poland, Belarus and even some places in Russia belonging to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. This Grand Duchy of Lithuania was a European state between the 12 to the 13 century. It was during this time that he avoided Ivan, nervous about him even now. He couldn’t stand to know how Ivan felt having some control over his country and feared he’d try to fight him for control over all of Russia again. Anytime he had to deal with Ivan, he made sure to call him rather than seeing him in person.
Toris eventually fell in love with Natalya while under the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, but she didn’t return his feelings because she’s too in love with her brother to even look his way. A couple of times Toris tried to win her over and in return she broke his arms and one or twice his leg. Being hurt by her didn’t bother him even a little bit since he’s blinded by his love for her and continued to try to win her over any way possible.
While Toris was under the Polish-Lithuania Commonwealth the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was abolished completely in favor of Lithuania. This broke his heart not to be around Natalya and after that he didn’t see much of her which only made him more upset.
He didn’t just meet Ivan as a grown nation, but he once met him when they were both young, a memory he doesn’t remember. Toris took his dog for a walk in the cold weather and saw Ivan. Instantly he became worried about him because of the freezing cold weather and thought he might die out here. Toris didn’t mind being friends with Ivan now, but Ivan on the other hand just wanted to become a powerful nation before they can be friends before leaving him and his dog alone on the bridge where they met. Toris wouldn’t meet Ivan again until they were both older and he was in a war with him.
Toris and Feliks had been working together for a long time under the Polish-Lithuania Commonwealth. Although Toris has trouble because of some of their past such as what Feliks said to him as he was dragged away by Ivan, he still thinks of Feliks as his friend. The two had a kingdom together during the Middle Ages that controlled both Middle and Eastern Europe more commonly known as the Polish-Lithuania Commonwealth. Their first battle together was Battle of Grunward where they took on the Teutonic Knights also known as Gilbert (Prussia). Toris was a pagan (a religion based around gods and goddesses) and so most of his country was as well. This caused him and his country to be targeted by the Teutonic Knights mostly Gilbert and their wants for the country to become catholic which Toris opposed. He thought of an idea to make it look like he left Feliks behind, but it was only to get a jump on Gilbert and the Teutonic Knights. In the end they won against Gilbert and the Teutonic Knights although most in Toris’ country have turned from the old religion of pagan the most known religion now is the Roman catholic church. Toris still has held his beliefs of pagan because he grew up believing it and didn’t want to convert to another religion.
It wasn’t long until the two managed to get into another war this time the Polish-Swedish wars fighting against Berwald. The war with Berwald had many different kinds of wars, but two were the most known wars between them. Finally, Berwald backed out of the battle and the two had no one else to fight with so they could finally rest for awhile.
He wasn’t entirely happy with Feliks due to feeling pushed around by him and forced to listen to him during the wars with Ivan. Feliks even wanted him to be move to Poland and live with him which Toris kept politely disagreeing with since he didn’t really want to leave his country at all. As much as he didn’t want to leave his country he found himself forced to go with Ivan to Russia where he lived under the Soviet Union. The only up side to being part of the Soviet Union was being with Natalia once again, although he had to be careful because of Ivan he tried hard to once again get her to fall in love with him.
Toris feared Ivan greatly because of the abuse he went through which normally included being whipped on his back where scars can clearly be seen if he takes off his shirt. He watched as Ivan slowly slipped into insanity through Bloody Sunday of 1905 where Toris found himself even more afraid of him and at the same time understanding how he’s slipped into his mess of abuse in the first place. He knew had a rough childhood, although Ivan has never opened up to him, but even knowing Ivan’s twisted and confused from his past, he’s still not able to control his fear over him because of all the violence he has to under go sometimes for things he hasn’t done at all.
Finally, Toris was allowed to get out of the terrible abuse in WWI when Alfred took him in where in return he cleaned his house and cooked him meals. This was to gain money Alfred had and he got them for cleaning and making meals for him and how much of a relief it was not being abused by Ivan.
When the Great Depression stuck to, Toris’ horror, Alfred also went low on money and was unable to pay him. Ivan came for him one day and he returned to his house where he rejoined the Soviet Union.
One day while getting ready to give Ivan some tea Toris overheard Ivan talking to his leader about trying to once again take over Poland. Toris tried to warn Feliks, but he didn’t take him seriously. Toris hated the thought of him not listening to him, but he really couldn’t do anything about it. Toris grew worried about Feliks through his strange attempts to keep Ivan away and one involved a chain letter where Ivan gave them to Toris, Eduard and Raivis which was another failed attempt to make Ivan afraid for his country.
The Soviet Union broke up for good and Toris declared his freedom. Even though he missed seeing Natalya and trying to get her to love him back, he missed his freedom even more. Finally, being away from the Russian.
After that things went smoothly and he only had to see Ivan during the World Meetings. Even though Ivan came to him often and told him to return, he refused, being as brave as he could.

You've got it backwards! Backwards!
Hurry up and throw it! If you don't hurry up and throw it, you'll go "boom"!
Toris paced back and forth in his hotel room at a brisk pace. He kept glancing at the clock on the nightstand ticking down the minutes until the world meeting would begin. A common event Toris grew use to, not the meeting itself, but the mind numbing fear that came with it. This fear gnawed on his stomach, making the butterflies feel more like bats tangled in his innards. Sweat oozing from his palms and glistening his forehead. His breath quick and his body visibly shaking. Toris’ thoughts in a jumbled mess and his heart pounding so fast it felt like it could burst out of his chest.
The sudden knock on the door snapped him out of thoughts. Normally if it were housekeeping someone would say something, but the silence confused him. Another knock, this one much louder and sounded like something metal smacking against the wooden door. Toris wondered if the person on the other side could be friendly, but the more he thought about it the more he wanted to know before he unlocked the door who the person on the other end was. For all he knew it could be Ivan waiting for him with a big grin and trying to convince him to join him again. The thought made him hesitant and after the third knock, Toris spoke up. “W-who’s there?â€
No one answered back. He slowly walked up to the door. With no keyhole he couldn’t tell if the person was Ivan, but this sickening feeling told him to be careful. His gut has never been wrong before.
He slid the chain lock across the side of the door and unlocked the other two locks. The cool doorknob felt nice against his clammy hand. “H-hello? Mr…Russia…is that you?†Toris would never call Ivan by his human name unless given permission to do so. Other than that he’d call him by his country name, Russia. He slowly pulled back the door just until the chain lock stopped it. The eyes that met his were violet. He knew those eyes too well. Just as he feared, Ivan stood on the other end and that metal he heard? His pipe.
“M-Mr. Russia!?†Fear caused his body to tense, color quickly fading from his face and his eyes went wider than a deer in the headlights. Toris looked away from Ivan’s eyes, avoiding all eye contact. He tried to slam the door shut behind him, but instead of slamming on Ivan’s face, it hit into the Russian’s boot. His eyes glanced down at the foot keeping his door open. The chain lock wouldn’t protect him against Ivan forever and leaving the room through the door…without being greeted by Ivan would be impossible.
The window. Toris darted to the window, nearly tripping on the leg of the bed on the way there. He could hear Ivan struggling to get rid of the lock, meaning he didn’t have much time to think. Having a room on the second floor didn’t seem like a terrible idea at the time. Now he’s facing another unwanted talk with Ivan made him think how stupid of an idea it was.
He unlocked the window and yanked it as far as it would go. Toris glanced behind him to see an arm reaching into his room. With heart racing, he put on foot out the window and then the other, sitting on the edge of the window and staring down at the opened trash can filled to the top with trash. If he had to choose between Ivan or jumping into a bag of trash for a second story window he’d choose the latter.
“One…two…three.†He mumbled under his breath, closed his eyes and fell, screaming, into the trash. The garbage caught his fall, but not without him hitting his head on the back of the trashcan. Hitting his head made a small trickle of blood on the back of his head. Nothing he couldn’t handle. He pulled himself out of the trashcan, stumbling to the ground and groaning a little bit from the pain in his head. Toris felt worse than he had been before Ivan showed up. All he could think about was how he had to go find the meeting room and seek shelter there. Ivan couldn’t injure him in a room full of other countries.
Breathing heavily Toris struggled to arrive at the meeting where the other nations greeted him by holding their noses. Finally in the safety of others Toris relaxed, letting out a painful sigh of relief.
