[style=font-family: arial; font-size:11px;text-align:justify; line-height: 110%;padding: 20px 50px;]Dmitri despised Ivan for forcing him to kill Maria, but Alfred was also on that hit list. After years of slumber from pure exhaustion Dmitri woke up a new man. A man hell bent on revenge and revenge will be sweet. He could’ve started with Ivan, but he knew how risky that was. After all, he was still sentenced to eternity in the Peter and Paul Fortress where he escaped from a hospital after his suicide attempt. The Russian knew how difficult leaving Russia would be, but he had to figure out a way to leave the country without anyone discovering him and reporting him to Ivan or the Emperor, he didn’t know Emperor’s were changed to Presidents. Dmitri snuck into the cargo section of the airplane while the people were busy talking about some TV show and not paying attention to loading the plane. The plane could easily kill a normal human after lack of oxygen and the freezing cold, but it only affected him a little bit with the cold and struggling to breathe. Although it didn’t actually kill him, it made him pass out and he remained like this even when the plane touched down. A couple guys were taking down the suitcases when they stumbled on Dmitri, who was cold to the touch. “Hey Jake? I think we have a dead stowaway.” He called out, but when Dmitri’s eyes shot open he jumped backwards and stumbled on the floor. “H-he made it from Russia to America in the cargo!” The man didn’t have any time to react other than saying this. Dmitri took out his anger on the American and crusted his windpipe. The other man yelled and ran away shouting. Dmitri watched with a twisted smile as the life faded from his eyes and went dull. After he went limp he tossed him aside like a rag doll and hopped out of the plane with the baseball bat with Maria’s name on it. “So…this is America.” He was still cold, but ignored it. After killing Alfred he should stay here and watch baseball since he assumed town ball was morphed into baseball. Dmitri spotted a group of security guards running toward him. Dmitri darted off before they could catch him, making his way through the airport with people trying to capture him. He wasn’t sure how far he ran to get away from them, but he knew how exhausted he was and stopped. Dmitri gasped as he tried to catch his breath. When he glanced over his shoulder he didn’t see them anymore and smirked. He got away, but his picture was already circling the news on the TV as breaking news. Thankfully people on the streets never saw the news or heard his description on the radio because after asking a couple people where he could find Alfred F. Jones they gave him the location of his house. Dmitri followed the directions to a tee and arrived at a beautiful house behind an opened gate. It would look even more beautiful if it wasn’t starting to pour down rain by the time Dmitri stepped on the porch he was soaking wet and very cold. He knocked hard on the door and waited for the door to open and when it did, Dmitri stared up and down at the American. Alfred F. Jones…America…the one who refused to hear him out. He scowled at the American, who wasn't Alfred at all, but his brother Matthew Williams. Canada. “Hello America.” He said America like it was acid on his tongue. “Or do you like being called Alfred?” Dmitri roughly poked Matthew with the front of his bat, hopefully enough it would make him bruise. “Remember me? Oh wait…we never saw each other. 1934 I called you for help…maybe five times. You told me to stop calling and hung up. You. Ruined. EVERYTHING!” Dmitri spoke in a thick Russian accent with a glare never leaving Matthew, still thinking it was the American who ruined everything for him. He reached into his pocket with his free hand and pulled out a black hair band where he then pulled his slippery hair back, ready to cause blood. He rose the bat from his side, ready to strike Matthew in the head and after that Dmitri planned to strangle him until he passed out and then….well…then Dmitri would figure out what to do next while he was knocked out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TIMESTAMP: June 6th, 1992 TAG: Alfred + Matthew + Open THEME: falling inside the black. SUMMARY: Dmitri goes to see Alfred to go through with his revenge. He plans to pay him back from all the trouble Alfred unwillingly caused when he reached out to him in 1934 at first to help Maria and him get out of the country and then his final, desperate attempt to get the American to help. Dmitri felt as though Alfred was also responsible for her death and will get his revenge one way or another. NOTES: I had fun writing by first post for him! ^.^ I love him already lol. [/div]

I try but it shows Mattie had decided to make one of his many visits to his brother’s house. It was easier for him to show up out of the blue than to expect Alfred to call him, because he was pretty sure his near twin tended to forget he existed at times. Sure he was used to it, but having his own family forget him kind of sucked at times. Thus he just grabbed his polar bear, and a suitcase, before hopping on a plane to Alfred’s place. He mostly slept on the way over too, so he felt nice and refreshed for whatever he and his brother would do. Probably stay up all night causing some sort of trouble like they usually did. He looked forward to it, because it wasn’t often he would really interact with others like him. That, was more because they forgot he existed and thus nobody ever called him, and if he called them then they asked why Alfred was calling them. It was as if they didn’t even realize the difference between the shouting Alfred would probably usually do on the phone and his much quieter talking. Ah well, he did suppose there was really nothing he could do about it, though he did wish there was.
Thus he arrived and just walked into the other nation’s house. He was not only the nation’s neighbor but his brother and thus did not need to knock. Though, sometimes he probably should because his brother did have a tendency to sleep around a lot. Ah well, so far he had been lucky and usually managed to not walk in on it, but that wasn’t important right now. He set his suitcase down and Kuma wandered off to find the American cat. A few moments later he heard a knock on the door and wondered if his brother had been actually expecting someone. Well, if that was the case then he did feel a little rude for just showing up. It was his brother though, so maybe he shouldn’t but really he wasn’t sure what to think at the moment. He supposed he probably should have called ahead, but oh well too late for that now. Besides, it wasn’t as if Alfred wouldn’t do the same to him at any given point in time. Though he hadn’t seen Alfred come towards the door yet so maybe he hadn’t even heard it. Mattie didn’t want to leave whoever was out there just standing there forever though. Thus, he decided to answer the door and discovered it was someone he definitely didn’t recognize. Though apparently they mistook him for his brother, per usual, and he just raised an eyebrow when it was asked if he preferred Alfred.
”I’m Canada!” he said slightly annoyed at being confused with his brother again. They didn’t look that similar did they? Sure they were twins, but there were some obvious differences in hair style definitely. Though really, to be fair, he had just answered the door at Alfred's house. It should have been expected that Alfred would answer the door. Then the apparent some sort of spirit in front of him started talking about how Alfred ruined everything somehow, and Mattie was not all that surprised. He wondered how often Alfred got people showing up at his door claiming the exact same thing. ”You’ve got the wrong brother at the moment…I’m Canada, or Matthew not Alfred or America.” he stated with a frown and then backed up a step or two before turning. ”Alfred! Some psycho with a bat is here to see you!” he yelled into the house wondering what sort of reply that would even get. Though he did kind of wonder if he should run, but technically the man wasn’t after him so he shouldn’t be that worried right? There was the possibility that he had the hearing problem all the other nations seemed to have when he stated who he was, so maybe he should back up some more just to be safe.

He set his chips aside and made for the door, slightly puzzled. He couldn't recall anyone saying that they would be dropping by. It wouldn't be the first time he had a visitor turn up without warning. Hell, Erin did it all the time! When he approached the front door, he was surprised to find his brother standing at the doorway, apparently talking to someone. Contrary to what Mattie believed, Alfred never actually forgot that his brother existed. He just liked to tease his brother and sometimes went a bit too far (though he wasn't aware of the latter bit, of course). "Hey, Mattie, who is it?" It didn't even matter to him that Mattie showed up without calling first. Come on, it was Mattie. Longest unprotected border in the world! Like he really cared about his brother turning up out of the blue every once in a while! What he did care about was the distinctly Russian accent he heard in the same vicinity. Alfred's eyes narrowed. The Cold War might have been over, but that didn't mean Alfred's hard feelings toward Ivan and some of his cronies completely faded. How could he trust a Russian so close to his house? A Russian that somehow managed to find his address no less? He was on friendly terms with a few members of the former Soviet Union, though mostly those he pledged to help. This man sounded Russian as Russian could be. It was an accent that Alfred could place anywhere after the preceding four decades of tension. "Alfred! Some psycho with a bat is here to see you!"Some...psycho with a bat? That was unexpected, but not so unexpected as what Alfred saw behind Matthew as he turned around. Alfred reacted instantly, sprinting forward and catching the bat just before it smashed into his brother's head. His attention turned toward the Russian with a glare. "What the hell is your problem? Bitter because your precious Soviet Union collapsed?" Alfred cooed to the shorter man in a mocking voice, assuming (incorrectly) that that was why he was here. His blue eyes narrowed dangerously as his grip on the bat tightened. "You do not take a swing at my brother, you understand me?" Alfred snarled, his voice full of venom. "If you have a problem, you will discuss it with me." He released the bat. "Now, can we use our words or did you have other plans?" He clearly had no qualms about it either way.[/style]

[cs=2] [/style]

[cs=2][style=font-family: times new roman; font-size: 8.5px; letter-spacing: 1.5px; font-weight: bold; text-align: right;] AMB Tanz[/div]

[style=font-family: arial; font-size:11px;text-align:justify; line-height: 110%;padding: 20px 50px;]Since Dmitri never met Alfred in person he didn’t know what he looked like and just assumed the person answering the door was Alfred. Instead, it was Matthew. Canada. The brother to Alfred F. Jones. What amazing luck it was to have his brother of all things here. He’ll be a perfect pawn to use against him. Dmitri could see Alfred on his knees begging for his brother not to be slaughtered like a pig. Telling him that he’d do anything for him not to die. He didn’t go to his house with a plan though. Dmitri never thought how he’d get his revenge on Alfred and Ivan…only that he will. If Dmitri couldn’t die and be with Maria he’d do the next best thing and torture Alfred and Ivan forever. They’ll know the pain he went through…everyday they’ll feel his emotional pain through psychical pain. He wanted to be with Maria, but chances our death will never come. The word psycho only made him grin. Yes. He allowed his heart to be swallowed up by madness just as he had years ago during his first imprisonment. Psycho, crazy and mad all described him. Nothing would change his ice cold heart. Maria was the only one to break it and he wouldn’t allow another to change him. Even though Alfred wasn’t standing in the doorway he took his chance to cause some pain to his brother by getting ready to smack him hard in the head. It never happened. Instead someone who looked similar to Alfred held his bat back. Dmitri never knew the Soviet Union broke up. His exhaustion made him sleep right through it, but even if he knew Dmitri wouldn’t care. This was another reason entirely. It’s not like Dmitri would ever come out and tell him the whole story of how he killed his love one by a forced hand which was, of course, the hated country Ivan himself. “Hello Alfred. We talked in 1934. I asked for you help. You wouldn’t even let me finish. I called until you told me to leave you alone. I’ve been waiting for this day all through my imprisonment and all though my hiding.” Dmitri began swinging the bat back and forth. It his hand with a light thud each time. “And no. I will not settle this with stupid words you stupid American! I’ve been waiting too long to talk it out. He looked over at Matthew and then back at Alfred. “I will destroy you and everything you love too.” He glared over at Matthew, but he’d have to wait for his move to attack him. His plan he had no plan. He wasn’t one to think logically when angry. Dmitri reached out with his gloved hand for Alfred’s throat. Rage filled his eyes making him lash out. He could always smack him with the baseball bat to keep him down after he tossed him off to the side and then go after Matthew to use him as a pawn against Alfred. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TIMESTAMP: June 6th, 1992 TAG: Alfred + Matthew + Open THEME: falling inside the black. I try but it shows Mattie honestly hadn’t quite realized Alfred had come to answer the door because he was distracted by the fact that he was being yelled at by a clearly angry Russian. Though he did hear his brother ask who it was, and the Canadian had no idea to be honest. Thus, he just looked over his shoulder and shrugged at the American brother before returning his attention to the conversation that was being yelled at him. Though of course he then mentioned that some psycho with a bat was there to see his brother. That really wasn’t all that surprising. He honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this happened often. He wasn’t sure how easy it was to get a hold of Alfred’s address though, and so that probably factored in too. There was also the fact that there was the possibility that Alfred wouldn’t be home at the time and they would be stuck sitting on the doorstep like a moron for several hours until he did get home. Anyway, that wasn’t the point right at the moment. The point was that Alfred had just stopped a bat from slamming into his head. Actually, while that would have hurt he probably would have gotten back up again. He’d taken enough fast pitches from baseball and certainly enough hockey sticks to the head that a baseball bat really shouldn’t knock him out at this point.
Really, he wasn’t a weak nation at all. He had fought wars, he had scars. He had lit his brother on fire at one point, though they don’t talk about that. None of those things made him weak enough to be used as a ploy against his brother. You’d be much better off going after one of the states if that was the plan. Though, really, some of them could be quite terrifying in their own right too so that wasn’t even a good plan. Nothing about this seemed to be well thought out when in the context of immortal beings. Sure if they were just regular vanilla humans then it probably would have worked, actually it probably would have still failed because of the fact that they weren’t going to just lay down and let themselves be attacked.
”I didn’t expect him to actually swing.” he noted idly with a shrug. Then Alfred was angry and there was an argument going on with him standing literally in the middle of it. Actually, he should probably move and let them spat it out without getting involved. As it was, it really wasn’t much of a fair fight he didn’t think. Two nations against someone he didn’t recognize from any world meetings, or even as a capital. It just, seemed a little tipped towards the nation side at the moment. He pulled a concealed gun out of his hoodie and grabbed Alfred’s wrist before placing it in his hand. ”Here, you can borrow this despite not needing it, and I’m going to go get a pop. Though, last I checked you couldn’t destroy nations with a baseball bat.” he stated simply. The nation then proceeded to wander to the kitchen and get himself a pop. Why? Well, because he didn’t want to be involved unless he had to be, and because he was thirsty. They could settle it themselves, he was Canada, he wasn’t known for starting fights for no reason, and thus he would avoid it. Peace keeping wasn’t exactly an option, by the way Dmitri had been speaking, and so he wasn’t going to attempt something pointless. Opening the fridge he discovered several different pops and several beers and debated on the repercussions of drinking right now. He then realized there was Canada Dry Ginger Ale and opted for that instead. It wasn’t his favorite, but it was amusing that his brother seemed to always have a can or two of it around.

Talk about holding a grudge! Of course Alfred had little reason to want to help a Russian in 1934 - They weren't exactly on the best of terms. Hell, they weren't on the best of terms now, but at least the Soviet Union was gone. What if it had all been a trap? How was Alfred supposed to know? The blond grinned when Mattie handed him his gun. "Thanks bro." He responded. It wasn't as though Alfred didn't have his own guns in his house (in fact, he had them in multiple locations), but the closer the better. Alfred slipped the gun into his coat pocket so that he had easy reach, but clearly had no plans to use it just yet. He made sure the safety was on so that it didn't go off in his pocket, then returned his attention to Dmitri. Alfred folded his arms across his chest as the man explained he didn't want to use his words. Well, that left one other option, as Alfred had a feeling Dmitri didn't plan on leaving just yet. "That's too bad. I have a feeling you're going to regret that decision, but I'll humor you for now." Dmitri was really going about this the wrong way. The fact that Dmitri was a city while Alfred and Mattie were both countries was already a factor against him. There was also the matter that both were fairly powerful countries, with Alfred being a military superpower. To top it all off, Dmitri came armed with a baseball bat rather than a firearm, and chose to attack Alfred in his own home. Alfred snarled at the man's last statement. "You will not destroy me, and you certainly will not destroy everything that I love if I have anything to say about it." Alfred had not failed to note the glance toward Mattie, and that only served to incense him more. If he knew what Dmitri actually had in mind - and what he pictured Alfred doing in response - he'd probably enter a blind fury of his own. He was slightly surprised by the hand grabbing for his throat, but he was able to dodge out of the way in just the nick of time. So he wanted to play that way, did he? Well, Alfred was in the mood to play along. Balling up his left hand into a fist, he aimed a punch straight for Dmitri's gut. [style=font-family: arial; font-size:11px;text-align:justify; line-height: 110%;padding: 20px 50px;]Dmitri went on pure emotions rather than using his head. It wasn’t like Dmitri was this stupid. In fact, he was a strategic planner after all he managed to escape the hospital instead of return back to the Peter and Paul Fortress and remained hidden. The problem now is he’s a slave to his emotions and while being pumped up with revenge and angry it became a weakness. One that Dmitri would surely regret soon enough. How stupid could he be to think a baseball bat would be able to subdue a country? If Dmitri allowed himself to remain calm and focus on a full revenge plot maybe things wouldn’t turn sour and be in his favor instead of the situation getting out of hand. He watched Matthew hand a gun over to the American, but it didn’t bother him. In Dmitri’s mind he could still take on a country while using just a baseball bat. It might be his madness slipping through making him believe he could take on a country. Dmitri gritted his teeth at Matthew’s words as he left. He can destroy everything using his baseball bat and if he can’t then maybe he’ll go with firepower, but in his twisted mind a gun’s cheating. A gun’s just a weapon weak people use because they don’t want to get their hands bloody through slicing with knives or beating with a baseball bat. He won’t let some stupid gun make him worry. Dmitri will win in the end. Even though he’s going on sheer madness and not a well thought out plan like Dmitri should’ve came up with. Spotting the hand morphing into a fist gave Dmitri a heads up with Alfred had in mind. He jumped backwards just as Alfred’s hand released, striking air. If Alfred had anything to say about it? He won’t. Dmitri will make sure of it, one way or another. A grin formed on his lips. “I already killed one of your citizens. Not someone you know personally, but I assume killing your citizens hurts a caring nation.” Maybe Alfred wasn’t the type of country who cared about his people, but Dmitri could only hope for the best. He’d be ready if Alfred flipped out, or at least that’s what he thought. He prepared his back to hit Alfred if he tried to ran for him. He held determination in his eyes willing to risk anything to get what he wanted. Alfred’s suffering. The more he thought about it the more his madness released his mind just enough to allow him to see the situation at hand. Dmitri realized how stupid he was for not planning anything and allowing his emotions and madness to take control over his body. No more. Now he’ll push it back just enough to think properly. No more letting his emotions blind him…he can’t do that if he wanted to truly defeat him. Planning…he had to plot. Allowing his madness to take him over would leave him defenseless. Madness seems to be a weakness Dmitri never thought of. Now that Dmitri could see more clearly he would have to assess the situation he found himself. An anger American, a fearless Canadian and a gun hidden inside Alfred’s jacket. His own weapon, just a baseball bat, his wits and his fists. He’d have to plan carefully if he were to turn his situation around. He could threaten a bombing of some kind, tackle him to the ground in hopes to wrestle the gun from him which would be a risky move seeing as he wasn’t sure how strong Alfred was, leave and come back after plotting his full scale revenge or leave and wait it out to kidnap Matthew. All of these ideas held some risk to them. He’ll need to wait and assess the situation even more to make sure to make the correct decision and not one he’ll regret later on. His problem was how much longer until madness and rage took over him once more and his plotting vanished, yet again going on impulse. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TIMESTAMP: June 6th, 1992 TAG: Alfred + Matthew + Open THEME: falling inside the black. I try but it shows Hearing the explanation Dmitri was giving about why he was here, Mattie raised an eyebrow. ”You expected an American to help you in the middle of the cold war? Really? There are how many countries in the world and you pick the one who hates Russia and everyone in it the most?” he asked incredulously. That just seemed like a bad idea. Pretty much any other country would have been a better idea at that point in time. Granted, depending on what it was it could have meant standing up to Russia, and most countries have never been all that keen on doing such a thing. There was also the fact that if that was the case then Alfred probably would have been the most likely person to go against Russia’s wishes. Either way, he really should have had a backup plan and expected Alfred wouldn’t be willing to listen to anyone with a Russian accent in the 1930’s. Though it was entirely possible that he didn’t realize how thick Alfred’s skull was when it came to certain issues either. Ah well, there was nothing for it, so he handed the gun to Alfred before wandering off to get himself a pop.
A country was not an easy thing to destroy. Cities and capitals were much easier; all you had to do was basically set them on fire and stop anyone from trying to put it out. If you let it go long enough the city would burn to the ground and more than likely cease to exist. Sure, it wasn’t nice to do in the slightest and was actually kind of horrible, but it made a point. Setting a country on fire was a much more difficult task. Granted, he did set Aflred on fire once, but not enough to kill him naturally. Well, certainly not seeing as he was still standing there. Physical violence spirit to spirit really wasn’t something that was going to cause lasting damage. It would heal and the country, city, capital, or state would continue on with no real drawbacks. Dmitri would have been much better off by trying to restart the plague or something along those lines. Sure, there was a cure for it, but if it became an epidemic there would be a problem. Hell, just bring Ebola over and let that run rampant. It would do a hell of a lot more damage than a baseball bat certainly.
He walked out with a can of Canada Dry and sipped at it while watching Alfred and Dmitri. He saw a punch thrown from Alfred and then heard Dmitri say he killed one of Alfred’s citizens. ”You killed one citizen? Do you feel like a badass now or something?” he asked with a raised eyebrow. Sure, it was sad the guy died, but there really wasn’t much you could do about it at this point. It wasn’t as if Dmitri had gone on a mass killing spree, probably just one person that got in his way. Which made Mattie wonder if he really actually wanted to do this. ”Are you sure you’re placing the blame on the right person even? I mean really, you didn’t have a backup plan for when Alfred told you to piss off because you’re Russian? Isn’t it your fault for not asking someone far more likely to help?” he asked while leaning against a while and sipping his pop. Hey, he was third party to all of this, and he really didn’t have a bias towards Ivan or Alfred. Just because they were brothers didn’t mean they had the same opinion of people.

He knew it wouldn't be that easy (and to be honest would be a little disappointed if it was), but he still hoped for a hit. Matthew, of course, had a point. Though before the Cold War, matters between Alfred and Ivan were still tense even in 1934. On top of that, Alfred was dealing with his own issues, in the form of the Great Depression. There were many factors to take into consideration. The blond frowned immediately upon hearing that Dmitri took out his frustration on one of his citizens. The news very much bothered him, but a comment from Matthew stopped him in his tracks. He paused, looking Dmitri up and down before he spoke once more. "Well, I'll just have to make sure that citizen didn't die in vain then, won't I?" He was upset at the news, but decided to channel it into something useful - More motivation to use in his fight against Dmitri. The way he saw it, if he fought with a specific purpose in mind (other than just winning, though that was important to him too), he would be more likely to come out on top. Dmitri had determination on his side, but so did Alfred. Alfred also had the home field advantage. He knew that, if he had to, he could use his knowledge of his own home as an advantage against Dmitri. He also had Mattie. On the other hand...he also had Mattie. Mattie's presence could serve as a catalyst for either side to get what they wanted. Dmitri could go after Matthew. Then again, Matthew's presence also meant that it was two against one. If Dmitri didn't get the chance to go after Matthew, he was outnumbered. There was also no telling how Alfred might react if Matthew was in danger. It certainly wouldn't be along the lines that Dmitri pictured in his fantasy. "Well, we've spent more than enough time talking. If you don't mind, Mattie, I'm going to take out the trash. Then we can hang out." Alfred made a fist and aimed this one for Dmitri's nose. [style=font-family: arial; font-size:11px;text-align:justify; line-height: 110%;padding: 20px 50px;]The Canadian had a good point. He could've called Arthur after all he was on a little bit of better terms…well…he got over his anger no telling how Arthur would’ve reacted, but since Maria was an American he naturally thought if he talked to Alfred then he'd figure out a way to bring them to Maria's country without any issues. That would've been his next plan if Ivan didn't show up and ruin everything. He panicked when Ivan came and he broke free…he just thought for a moment that if he hurried up and told Alfred about Maria being in trouble he would help him. Dmitri wasn't entirely up-to-date either because Joseph never told him everything…anything really and it wasn't like Dmitri was reading the newspaper either. He wasn't thought of as important after being freed from his imprisonment that and Joseph hated his city because of the influence of the West which he was determined to destroy. Not only that, but later on Dmitri was in hiding after his escape from the hospital where he was on suicide watch. "Cold War? What are you talking about? Stay out of this!" He watched him leave and turned his attention back to Alfred. That Canadian was getting on his nerves. It wasn't what he said about Dmitri killing an America, what bothered him the most was what he said after that. He would've had a backup plan if he had time to think clearly. The need to flee the country quickly might have been a factor of why Dmitri never came up with a backup plan right off the bat besides he wasn't given much time. Dmitri wasn't the one to blame for her death. Ivan and Alfred were to blame. No one else. "I don't have to explain anything to you." He forced back any memories threatening to take hold of him. He could lose himself again in his madness. It wasn't like he could control it like when he was with Maria. Dmitri wasn't worried about Alfred's words, but because of his blind spot he didn’t see his hand turn into another fist like he had before. It was probably the way Dmitri shifted from the position he stood in when Alfred tried hitting his stomach. A horrible crack rang out as Alfred's fists collided with Dmitri's nose. He gritted his teeth to keep any screams from being unleashed. Even in Dmitri's pain he wouldn’t allow the American the enjoyment to hear his screams. The pain overwhelmed him and blood trickled from his nose to the ground. Safe to say the crack was his nose breaking, but Dmitri wouldn't run away or cry. It took a short while for him to snap out of the shock of being hit. His eyes looked over at Alfred with pure rage and perhaps his insanity would even be noticed. His right eye twitched and his grip on the bat increased. Give into insanity…give into the darkness…give into the madness A voice echoed in his head, it almost sounded like the very same voice of Peter the Great from when he went crazy during his first imprisonment in the Peter and Paul Fortress. Dmitri gave a twisted, unnervingly creepy smile exposing all his teeth and his eyes were as wide as an owl. Instead of going into a blind rage like he normally would he just sunk into his madness resulting in the horrible pain to diminish as though he took medication to calm it. The madness might be the reason why he kept control over his rage as odd as it sounded. After all his madness could work with him and against him. It came in many forms too, but currently a more “tame†madness, stage one, took over and not entirely like the one he experienced through solitary confinement. A series of short chuckles escaped him which then turned into a cold-hearted laugh. He paid close attention to Alfred in case he wanted to play dirty and attack him again as he laughed. After a short while he stopped laughing and grinned at Alfred with that same look. "I laugh because it's funny you think pain will stop me." He announce. The pain appeared to vanish, but in reality it was still present, of course, but Dmitri just couldn't feel it thanks to a combination of pure madness and adrenaline. "Can't you see I'm stronger than you?" Not physically, but mentally Dmitri believed he had power over Alfred. His eyes wondered over to Matthew. "You care about your brother, da? He asked, his eyes quickly turned back to Alfred. At the moment Dmitri didn't care if his madness was working with or against him. His thought process was all jumbled thanks to it, but it also kept his mind from focusing on the pain. "Do you know what true pain feels like? Your entire life is gone…you feel nothing." Granted Dmitri felt the pain in his nose, physical pain, but emotional he's dead inside. Could Dmitri ever feel anything ever again? Maybe, but difficult to say if he would for sure. He decided on kidnapping Matthew…and send back pieces of his body to Alfred. Bit by bit even if he just started with Matthew's glasses. Through his insane thoughts he believed he had a chance at kidnapping Matthew. Killing Alfred wouldn't happen because he wanted him to go through the same. At first he wanted his death, but what would caused more pain? Death or suffering after failing to protect a loved one? His insanity seemed to be working against him at the moment because of his delusional thinking. He believed it would be easy to kidnap Matthew. He could steal the gun in Alfred's pocket or he could make Alfred think he won and wait for the perfect time to kidnap the annoying Canadian. His thought process was still screwed up thanks to his madness, but Dmitri would still wait to come to the right decision. NOTES: This post took awhile of thinking. I had soooo many ways of how Dmitri could react, but I decided on the one that made the most sense given his…issues. XD [/div]

"Yes, the Cold War. You know, the past four or five decades where Ivan and I nearly killed each other on multiple occasions?" This was an exaggeration, of course. On most occasions they had not even come close as a result of the threat of mutually assured destruction. However, the capability and desire were there. Alfred just knew it would spiral out of control faster than you could say 'radioactive fallout' if either of them tried to use their vast weaponry against the other. And it wouldn't just impact them - It would impact everyone. Needless to say, Alfred wasn't entirely upset that the tension seemed to dropped dramatically after the Soviet Union fell. Alfred was understandably surprised when Dmitri started laughing in the midst of a broken nose. It wasn't often that one laughed at such injuries. "Thanks for the clarification," Alfred responded sarcastically to Dmitri's explanation for his laughter. He frowned, though, because he knew with those words that it would be harder to get Dmitri to go away if he couldn't deter him with just pain. Obviously he'd have to ramp up his game a bit. It was Alfred's turn to laugh when Dmitri insisted that he was stronger than Alfred. "Ohohoho, really? You think so? That sounds like a challenge!" Alfred, of course, took it at face value, and assumed it to mean that Dmitri actually thought he was stronger than Alfred physically. Alfred knew damn well that there were only a few nations who could stand up to his strength, and only one that he considered something of an equal. Mind, said nation was Dmitri's, but Dmitri was a mere city, not Russia himself. Of course, that was not what Dmitri meant at all, but that remained to be seen. His teeth ground together when Dmitri asked if he cared for his brother. "If you lay a hand on him I'll make sure you regret ever stepping foot on my doorstep." He growled, indirectly answering Dmitri's question. Of course he cared for his brother, and the fact that Dmitri kept glancing in his brother's direction as if he had every intent to drag Mattie into this made his protective instincts kick into overdrive. Mattie might be able to handle himself, but would Alfred even let it get that far? That remained to be seen. [style=font-family: arial; font-size:11px;text-align:justify; line-height: 110%;padding: 20px 50px;]A grin formed on Dmitri’s lips to hear that Ivan and Alfred fought during this…Cold War and almost killed each other. Too bad that didn’t happen, it would satisfy him, but it might also bother him because Dmitri wasn’t able to cause the deaths or death of one of them. The smile faded away as curiosity took over of who won this war. He wasn’t entirely sure what it was about either and wanted to know more about it, but decided to ask the burning question. “Who won? Dmitri didn’t know why he wanted to know because it really didn’t matter, but he just wanted to know. He felt a little childish and even felt as though he lost the true meaning he was here…not to talk about some war he knew nothing about. It didn’t matter! All that mattered was Alfred being paid back for not helping them. Still, this didn’t cure his curiosity that he had and hopefully Alfred would tell him. It didn’t matter who won since both of them he hates with a passion. Dmitri knew he could take Alfred in a challenge of wits, but this was more about revenge than an actual challenge so he didn’t say anything to the American. Instead, he just glared at him while his thoughts raced with all possible things he could do to hurt Alfred. No telling how long it would take to be able to go through with them since Alfred proved to be more of a problem than he thought and the fact that he went there without planning, thanks to impulse, would be difficult to go through with anything, but he would figure something out. He stared over at Matthew again and back at Alfred. The pain in his nose still not present probably because of the madness shielding. Dmitri recalled a pocket knife he stuffed inside his jacket pocket before departing from Russia. At first he believed he didn’t pack any weapons with him, but it slipped his mind entirely. Maybe he’d be able to control this situation after all. Dmitri grinned from ear to ear, a twisted grin. He will make Alfred suffer and the way he’ll do it…through someone he loves and then through Alfred himself. Dmitri hadn’t tortured someone in a long time, but it’s like riding a bike, you never forget. The first thing he had to figure out was how to get past Alfred and the only way to do that was to injure him first and that meant using his baseball bat and hopefully catch Alfred off guard. The Russian city’s grip tightened on the baseball bat and he knocked it right into Alfred’s gut as hard as he could swing it. Dmitri didn’t waste any time running over to Matthew and grapping him with his free hand. Although he didn’t want to let the baseball bat go, he decided to drop it for now so he could take control over the situation and then he’ll take the baseball bat with him. He held tightly onto the Canadian, dropped the bat and with his free hand reached into his pocket and yanked out a knife, putting it against Matthew’s throat. It wouldn’t be easy to kill a country, in fact, it’s easier to kill a city than a country…but Dmitri wouldn’t think about that. All he could think about was Maria and how sweet revenge would taste. Next on his list…Ivan, but first…Alfred. “Your threats don’t scare me.” Dmitri placed the knife against Matthew’s throat, but made no movements. Maybe this would get this stupid country to shut up…both of them to just shut up and listen to him. “I will regret nothing.” Besides, Dmitri already regretted failing Maria and failing suicide…he wouldn’t allow himself to fail at making Alfred and Ivan feel pain. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TIMESTAMP: June 6th, 1992 TAG: Alfred + Matthew + Open THEME: falling inside the black. I try but it shows Hearing Dmitri’s question he pondered it for a moment. Alfred probably, no definitely, wouldn’t like his answer but it was the truest answer. ”Nobody won, the Soviet Union dissolved and the conflict went with it. Though they still pretty much hate one another, they aren’t threatening to blow one another up anymore at least.” he said simply with a shrug. He was ignoring the command to stay out of this. He didn’t take commands from cities he didn’t like. Besides, he had asked, and so Mattie had simply answered. If he wanted him to stay out of it, he probably shouldn’t ask questions. Though, actually, he probably could have just not answered. That would look like he was actually staying out of it though. Yes, he was probably channeling Alfred, and pondered idly if someone had slipped alcohol into one of his drinks earlier. He usually only acted this defiant when drunk after all, but it was the situation, and it called for it. Let it be known that the nation of Canada does not appreciate being told what to do by psychos that swing bats at his head. It was rather rude after all, and he honestly just didn’t want to be bothered with such beings. Get over yourself, let it go, it was in the past and nothing could be done about it now. Sure, he supposed revenge for whatever happened was possible, but it wasn’t really dealing with it. It was more making oneself hold onto the memories and the pain.
Then suddenly Dmitri was talking about him like he wasn’t there. What was with people and doing that? Could they really not see him standing right there drinking Canada Dry Ginger Ale plain as day? Or maybe he was just trying, badly, to threaten Alfred and scare him or something. That wasn’t going to work really, because he was pretty sure Alfred would just punch him out. Apparently though, he had caught his brother by surprise, being that the bat actually hit him this time, and was now running towards him. Great, now he was being held hostage by some psychopath with apparently now a knife. Canada, was not that easy to subdue. His reaction was that of back when he was a feral child, and so his first reaction was to bite Dmitri as hard as he could in the wrist holding the knife. He really should probably stop that reaction at some point, but it did seem to come in handy thus far so why bother?
He was hoping to make the city bleed, and pondered for a moment about smashing the can of ginger ale off his head. He was still holding it after all. Dmitri did not scare him, not really, and Mattie was hoping he would regret his actions. Though, he wasn’t going to hold his breath on that one; that was like Alfred admitting he was wrong. At least, at the moment he couldn’t stab him, or well not well at least unless he decided to switch knife hands, and Mattie was using his free hands to try and prevent Dmitri from doing so, and he was also at the same time trying to slam him into the wall behind them. How well that was going though was hard to say at the moment.

XD [/style]This one Alfred didn't mind answering. The outcome was in his favor, and he would enjoy rubbing this in Dmitri's face. He was still under the impression that Dmitri supported Ivan, after all. "The Soviet Union fell," Alfred repeated with relish, hoping that would drive the point home to the city. "Who do you think won?" The distraction worked. In his gloating, he didn't expect Dmitri's blow to the stomach. That caught him off guard, much to his chagrin. His hand clenched at his stomach as his eyes darted back to Dmitri. Unfortunately, in the short time Alfred was distracted, Dmitri went straight for Mattie and now had the other country in his clutches. Alfred immediately retrieved the pistol and took aim at Dmitri. He had no plans to fire, not yet at least, but he wanted to show Dmitri that he meant business. If Dmitri was going to pull a knife on his brother, when Alfred warned him multiple times to leave him alone? Well, he deserved what was coming to him. "Maybe you didn't hear me the first time." Alfred fingered the trigger as he spoke, relishing the all too familiar feeling of cold metal against his fingertips. "If you don't take your hands off of Mattie right now, you will regret it." The only reason he hesitated to fire was the knife against Mattie's neck. He wouldn't put it past Dmitri to shove Mattie into the line of fire. His stomach still hurt something fierce, but that didn't mean that he was going to let it distract him from rescuing his brother. Alfred's main concern now was his brother's close proximity to Dmitri. If he launched any sort of attack on Dmitri, Mattie might end up in the crossfire. There was even a chance that Dmitri might try to use Mattie as a shield! Alfred was particularly incensed at that thought. Alfred grinned when he witnessed his brother sinking his teeth into Dmitri's hand in an attempt to break free. "Be careful. He bites." He kept his eyes peeled for an opportunity that he could use against Dmitri. So long as Dmitri used Mattie as a hostage, Alfred could not use too much force without the risk something happening to his brother.
