Ludwig Germany Beilschmidt
Short Bio
Germany is a young, strong and thriving nation, surviving remarkably well for one brought about such a short time ago. Having survived the loss of two world wars, despite indication they could easily have been the winner, two great depressions, and a somewhat tarnished reputation, Germany has done well for himself in terms of business, economy and position as a power within Europe.
Despite this, he's a harsh, strict man who hasn't much time for frivolous games and pleasantries - and while there's no need for a lack of civility, he has no interest in doing anything sub-par for the sake of them. Germany upholds some of the neatest, more accurate and efficient standards known to the world, and he expects much of the same in everyone else. This, of course, only ends in disappointment.
Germany also has great pride in his cities - a legitimate caring for them, and his elder brother, Prussia. He doesn't like to show much in the way of his emotions, but he's sure Prussia knows how he feels, just as he hopes his cities do. Germany is dependable; he takes care of his own, and those who mean something to him - though he does become frustrated when they themselves don't display the standard of professionalism he expresses.
Relationships
Prussia - Prussia is Germany's older brother - after spending a good few years lifting nations and putting them in his house, Germany was born. The split after WWII was a particularly difficult time, and since they got the house back to themselves, Ludwig's been trying to make sure they're hanging out regularly when he isn't working. Now, if he would just stop living in the past...
Berlin - His capital - Berlin is someone Germany feels close to; she understands him, and wears the scars of his past. He can't ask any more of her, but she still manages to go above and beyond the call of duty. She's just...special.
Munich - Munich means a lot to Germany, even if he doesn't always see her as often as he should. She does very well for herself - she even houses one of the best soccer teams in the world. Ludwig doesn't always say it out loud, but he's proud of her.
Austria - He's Germany's friend, even if he is an annoying one. They speak the same language, they have a lot of shared history, and they've not always been on the same page - but they've managed through. Austria's dependent of Germany, and while he's trying, Ludwig can't help but get frustrated about it sometimes.
Brandenburg - It's a tough situation between her and his brother; a divorced pushed upon them, after many years together, and a love/hate relationship, he can't help but feel a little awkward between them at times. But, she helped raise him - she was there like a sister when he needed her. She might not be with Prussia anymore, but to Ludwig, she's still family.
France - Germany doesn't hate France, it's important to outline that; but France DOES frustrate him. He's not overly keen on him. Germany finds Francis to be a little too nervous of him and holds suspect that Germany is going to attack any day now. He holds a grudge that the Treaty of Versailles was held to make an example of Germany, and that he demanded for reparations so high it put Germany on the very financial brink.
Russia - There's bad blood between the two. From entirely opposing political views, to the tensions built between WWI and WWII, Germany and Russia are not good friends. Germany attempted to take the Balkan states, which Russia also held an eye on, and Ivan is the reason for Berlin's facial scar. Ludwig holds Ivan responsible in a grudge, feeling Ivan caused imperfection to one of his closest friends.
